Yeaman will play but putting Crooks infront of Turner is plain stupid. I assume you haven't seen him play this year ?

Scott - You obviously don't understand my reasoning for this. I'm not saying Crooks is better than Tuner now, just saying there is absolutley no mileage in Turner.

We got the wrong lad from Salford, both Myler and Ratchford are class players, we got the rubbish.

I can see what you are sayimg and would have liked to see Crookes play, but I haven't seen him play that much so if people who have seen him say he isnt ready, then maybe he isn't.

Gentle's main job is to pick the strongest side to win games and if Yeaman is out and he doens't want to move people about then it has to be Turner,

Hopefully Yeaman will play on Friday, the have his op missing games against Widnes, cas and Bulls.

In the long run Crooks will be the better option of course but he isn't ready.

Myler isn't a bad player by any means but he isn't amazing either. I think Ratchford is the better of the two, I wish we could have signed him.

Wasn't bad no, but still just a poacher. Don't think he's up to much at opening a defence. Of the 28 first choice halfbacks in SL, I can honestly say that he wouldn't make the top 20 for me.

Turner wants to play back row and has trained there all pre-season. Would be just as unfair on him as it would moving Whiting. Maybe we should move Briscoe in one and play J.Briscoe/Lynne/Lineham outside of him. I expect Turner to play centre though.

Except for the fact that Whiting is getting a game in the back row and Turner is not. I'm sure if he was asked whether he'd rather play centre or not at all, he'd choose to play.

I was pointing out that people seem to be assuming Turner is our back up centre, given he wants to challenge for a back row spot it would be unfair to ask him to play out of position, as it would be for Whiting.
Obviously, as he's not getting a game I'm sure he's more willing to accept a move.

How would it be unfair? If he was playing in the back row, and playing well, I'd agree that it would be unfair to move him. But as he's not playing in the first team at all, he should be grateful for the opportunity to play anywhere and use it as a chance to stake a claim for a regular spot. Was it unfair to give Ellis a run at hooker last week? He's trained as a 6 all pre-season, hasn't he? What about Nicklas? Was it unfair on him too?

When someones not playing that well in reserve grade he shouldn't be drafted into the first team. It can work the opposite way if he gets destroyed by Meli/Shenton it can shatter his confidence.
