Have you ever heard a song and complained about it ?
Seen a film and complained about it ?
Eaten at a restaurant and complained about it ?
To claim you can only pass comment on stuff which you can do better than another person is ridiculous.

Well said
As much as it was a honour seeing a modern day Legend play for us....I have seen a lot better in a Hull shirt than "sir" Fitz.

While I do agree, I think a lot of that was due to him playing in a crap team, with little tactics.
I reckon had he come into a good team as an experienced, quality forward (like Kearney did) we'd have seen a lot more from him.

I've personally always thought that the word honour is a strange thing to say about watching a rugby player play rugby (especially when we pay the going rate to do so), but I'd agree it was a pleasure to do so. We've also had many players who have brought more to the team even if they weren't perhaps as good as him at his best. I'm still ambivalent overall about his time here.
Another point about the main thrust of the thread: What does his suitability for Captain have to do with his ability as a player? Richard Horne was every bit as unsuitable IMO, but that doesn't stop him being one of the best Hull players of the last 10 years in his prime. Then there are the vast majority of players who are never even given the Captain's role, does that mean none of them are good players or deserving of a testimonial? Will Yeaman have to go without?

Tbh im not a lover of testimonials, the players are well paid now compared to the players of the 80s who got a testimonial to cover the wages effectively.Maybe something like if a player does 10yrs at 1 club then his salary doest count towards the cap for 1 season and he does personal events?

You show a great amount of distain for the bloke that's clear to see, whilst maybe not the best on field inspirational captain I think it's a poor effort on your part to single him out given the very average rugby we've been served up over the last 4-5 years.
As for his body language saying 'defeat', well if your boss at work behaved in such a manner would you just pack in and go home? No, the other players were/are professional sportsmen (sure some young kids too) so to say it is the (nominated) captain's fault for pee poor performances is just garbage, EVERY player has to take responsibility for THEIR own performance.
I think you should get off his case and troll somewhere else

| Not sure why their seems to be a lot love of love for "Radders"? I was chuffed to bits when he retired as he has been poor for at least 3 seasons now. Maybe he's done a lot of community work I don't know about but anytime I've seen him asked about the Hull fans he usually can't be bothered to at least pretend he likes/appreciates/respects us so I've no interest in supporting his testimonial events.

| I have never been a big fan of Radders as a player. But I do appreciate his achievements in the game and effort he put in on behalf of Hull Fc. He's played with injuries some of us would've cried off work sick with. I also don't believe he has ever stepped foot on a rugby pitch with the intention of not giving his all. He wore the shirt of my team, a team I would've loved to say that I had played for. He is now a coach for the very same team. 'The team' I'll be cheering on tomorrow, with the proceeds going to Radders and his chosen charities.
Memory of Radders walking out at Old Trafford wearing [ithat[/i Preccie top.

When he retired was my favourite moment tbh. Thats purely for playing reasons before people jump in and say he does this n that for the community.

| These people that say' what did he ever do for us'? make me laugh, they need to understand what respect is. He started his career with us, respect that and the career decision he made to join Bradford the best team in the country by a mile at the time. Respect his decision to come back to us and give his all in an often beaten team, and to do it with the verbal abuse he took from the terraces and on this site. He won everything on offer the Super League had in the best team there was, he was selected to represent his country, his peers hold him in high regard with the utmost RESPECT,...That'll do for me.
Well done in ALL you have achieved Radders, and thanks for ALL you gave us.
Good luck with the U 20's.

I fully agree with regards to joining Bradford but he could have handled that alot better.
I don't buy into the whole " he gave his all since hes been back " so he should, hes getting paid to give 100% its a shame it wasn't good enough.
He did very well at Bradford but i dont care what he did there i care what he did at Hull or what he didnt do is more like it.
Im sure he'll do very well in his new coching role though.

He probably would have done for Hull what he did for Bradford had he had the quality around him that of what he had at Bradford.........But he hadn't and he didn't.... It wasn't ALL down to him was it????...Cusack left with more respect from the fans than what a local lad is doing, and IMO Cusack offered the same if not less than Radford. And as someone has previously said, the testimonial is for his services to SL and not FC, and the proceeds are going to charity...pity that people dont have the same 'charity' within them to support what he has done, that is the whole point.....not what he did for us.
