| Quote: "The likes of Mick Harrison and Trevor Skerrett would have beasted Carvell if they played/trained the same as modern day pros. I'd have Harrison in my 13 any day of the week.
Overall though if I had to have one player from all that i've seen I'd have to go with Topliss, skill, bravery and tactically superior. I reckon the only reason he didn't get so many caps for GB is that he played for Wakey at a time when they were unsuccessful & unfashionable.'"
Spot on ,I'd have Knocker imho

| I asked my Dad the same question. He's 80 and has been following Hull since the war.
Without hesitation he said Bruce Ryan. A flying Australian winger who beat people for fun.
He played for Hull for three seasons form 1947-1950, before Leeds bought him for a World Record fee of £4,500.
No doubt tipped off by an external source!!!

| Knocker - God in hull shirt. The loudest I ever heard threepenny was when his name was announced in the team for a derby when he came back from an injury. The place erupted. the game was won in that moment

| To fit into our current squad I would agree with the vote for Richie Barnett. The guy was pure class & just seemed to glide through defences. He could also put in some massive hits in defence. Wish we could have had him a few years earlier.

| If we base it on requirements/positions for next year then as follows:
second row: Len Casey (hard as nails, tighten the defence, when he played full game if not sent off)
Centre: Gary Schofield ( fast as lightening, with brilliant rugby brain)

Good call, speedy, mobile/marauding, goal kicking second row then turned into one of the best ball handling props these shores have seen in recent times. That pass to Lydon who then put schoey in the GB '86 3rd test was brilliant even more so given the hit he knew he was going to get.

| My first big FC memory is the CC final against Wigan and James Leuluai so he's alway's being a big favourite of mine, that game has always stuck with me, I remember i couldn't stop crying after we lost either (soft lad) my old man I expect would have said Knocker, but for me J Smith incredible player.
