I would be very surprised if either of those players would accept the captaincy in their first season at a new club. It will be hard enough for both players as it is, for differing reasons, without the added pressure of captaincy.

I reckon to Fitz the leadership thing comes naturally anyway especially on the field.

Quality playera shouldn't have a problem, take hodgson at huddersfield as an example.

Fitzgibbon will be like Galea. He might not have the captains armband but everybody will know he runs the team anyway.

doesnt matter who is named captain, I have absolutely no doubt what so ever that the likes of Fitz and co will be a force in the dressing room, I would also hazzard a guess that who ever is captain will be rocketed if they dont produce it as well!!

I would expect he does, lets be honest non of these players comeover for the love of the club they are going to. Hull will have offered him a deal that was good enough to bring him to the country.

He seems like a very respected, professional player who has been very loyal to his club. He will no doubt be a great influence on the younger lads in your squad and barring any injuries a good addition to your squad.

I'd be shocked if Long wasn't your captain next year, he has the ego and presence for this role and think it will be a statement by Agar that this is his team this year and this is the man to lead it..

Watching the roosters vid, he comes across as a intelligent, humble, down to earth person. Fitzy has a legacy behind him through hardwork and dedication.Like others have said lets see how he goes but maybe a extension will be in order, cant wait to see him in the shirt.

great video and great speech... no matter what part he has at the club next season, i reckon he'll whip the team into shape, he doesn't seem like the kinda guy who tolerates slackers... hopefully next season he'll stay fit and we can have something to cheer about both on and off the field, the futures bright, the futures fitzy!!! come on you uuulllllahhhh! hopefully see abit of biff too!!!

I feel very privileged that a player of his experience, stature and authority will be wearing the black and white shortly. If he wants the captaincy he should get it.
