Me neither but he is pretty inexperienced, I still think we need a starting hooker and have him on the bench.

If he's coming is as, say, a replacement for Morgan Smith, that's great. But is he good enough and experienced enough right now to come in and take the 9 shirt? I really haven't seen a lot of him, anyone watched many Salford games this year?

Morgan Smith was signed on a 2 year deal so another one we'll need to pay off .

Or put out on loan. Whatever we do with him I've seen enough to know he's not good enough.

To be fair to him , We've hardly seen him at 9 but yeah , this signing would mean he's surplus to requirement's .

Unless the plan is to have Smith and Bourouh as our hookers for next year with an eye to promoting Hodgson in 12-24 months time.
There has been a bit of talk by Myler about making sure highly rated young players aren't blocked.
Just a thought even though it doesn't exactly get the pulses racing for next year.

Yes, Myler has said about not blocking the young players off but also making sure that we develop them without overexposing them too quickly. There's obviously going to have to be some kind of balance there that the club has to find and get right and signings will hopefully reflect that.

Not player I know a great deal about but as always we'll see how he goes. May be a very astute signing, who knows. I do hope we sign a more experienced hooker though.

Re. the Douehai suggestion.

He hasn't been 'Offerred' - his agent is scouting the market as a backup in case things don't work out in the NRL or with his injury.

Personally I think any time chasing such projects/targets is a waste of our time - we need to be realistic.

Last year we were in for Connor Watson ( who I always thought was out of reach ) & Shaun Blore who suddenly improved massively.

Tricky one for the club to settle on where they put their time & efforts - many agents will express interest & negotiate for weeks while they assess options. Often this will delay us moving on to new targets & sometimes missing out.

There is not a single NRL player waking up thinking ' I would love to play for Hull FC' - it is a short career for them where they have to maximise their income. However it is clear that many are ultimate professionals who contribute greatly but also...............................

Welcome to the new hooker, but he isn't starting every week ? See him as a squad player - probably replacing Denive but seen as being already better with more potential.

Regardless of peoples views on Danny Houghton, he has borne 90% of the work for years, we need a replacement starter who adds strike. Zac Woolford has been mentioned in the past - still not getting much of a look in at the Raiders - he might be achievable & meet our needs ?

He's got the 9 shirt at Salford and has started 8 games for them this year already (once from the bench). He isn't coming here to be 3rd choice hooker.
