Briers is an interesting one. Well thought of as an assistant at Wigan and now the Broncos but appointing a club legend doesn't always work out.
Morgan was heavily linked with the Cas job so it wouldn't surprise me if he returns to SL.'"
Agree, think Hodgson is most likely in there purely due to him previously being a well regarded Warrington player rather than any coaching credentials.

Based on his time here, I wouldn't think Hodgson would be one for sorting the culture out at wire

As always with Wokists, you’re taking this conversation out of context. In my original post, I stated that in the modern era, The Minstrels wouldn’t be allowed but 60 years ago they were classed as light entertainment. It’s pointless making a Woke judgement now on what happened in the past. This conversation has been done to death on other forums. I don’t see the need for your intervention, when 2 people are discussing the happenings of innocent youth, with suggestions of racism. Please don’t bother replying.

And no one has suggested otherwise, all that was mentioned was a memory of a trip away to Wembley. So stop trying to find offence as there is enough of that going on in the world today without it being brought here thank you.

| Good of Rovers to sign 3 loan players for 2 weeks so they can rest their 1st team players this week. Sure their academy lads will be thrilled with this.

Pretty sad really.
They’re even loaning squad players from Wakefield.
Sends a message to any aspiring young players in Hull at which club you’ll get an opportunity to develop.

| Not really surprising is it from Rovers. Why give the opportunity for your own reserve player to play against Wigan for the first team when you can sign three reserve players from other clubs and play them instead.

| Don't suppose they'll care if they win the Cup in the end, but as others have said why not use squad/academy players for 1 match

All jokes, banter and rivalry aside I think this is a poor decision by Rovers as they surely have a squad of their own that is good enough to cope with resting a few players if needed one game without having to bring players in a 2nd time on short term loans?
For me short term loans of 1 or 2 weeks is a tactic that should be stopped as there is no real incentive whatsoever for a club to develop their own players as it just promotes short term fixes.
I don't oppose the use of loan players but feel a loan should be for a minimum of 4 weeks for there to the be any value in the loaning of players.

Got reserve and academy fixtures to fulfill as well.
Academy lads are only 18, so chucking them in numbers against Wigan is unlikely to be good for their development. There’ll be space for a couple, I imagine, and plenty of the squad players in the first 17.
Hull haven’t played an academy-eligible player in a first team game this season either, afaik - it is a big jump to make.
It’s nice that we can enjoy something together - the outrage, I mean.
