| I’m a bit gutted he’s left us but I heard from one of his team mates that he’s enjoys going on the pop too often so the club has probably done the right thing
I’m pretty much over it now though because I’m happy Matongo will get more game time this season and I’m over the moon that Carlos has signed an extension so happy days

Heads or tails.
Boulevard or KC.
Being sent to Coventry or Letchworth Garden City.
What’s (geddit) surprised me is the speed of it all. Conspiracy Theorists apart, salary cap this situation must have been going on for a while, smoke without fires etc. I’ll trust Radders and co. on this, after all it only took them a week, after The head rub, for them to finalise a deal. Just wish it had been Toronto, bet you’re boots it bites on the booty at KC.

| I'm still gutted he's gone as he's a really good player. One of the best props in Super League.
The club have taken a strong stand and we'll be a better club for it going forward.
Also think it will cement the emergence of Abdul. He can make the loose forward Role his own now there's a vacancy in the pack.

He will either have a stormer and beat us single handedly. Or get sent off for punching Jake Connor.

Or more likely will have little effect like Briscoe, Crooks, Miller, Lineham, Westerman et al.

When Radford dropped Miller and Crooks we lost significantly more games without them which meant we were on the verge of relegation, given how shambolic London were and how Bradford were skullf'kd + giving up hope at the back end, we were effectively 1 point from being relegated. It made a LOT of difference without them in the side, the win ratio was still better with them from the awful 2014 season than it was for 2015.
Losing Briscoe we didn't notice because we were so crap in 2014, Talanoa stood out because how poor the rest of the team were.
Westerman improved after leaving Hull but again he was being used as a prop by Radford not his proper role so it's not surprising we didn't miss him that much.
We paid a big wedge of salary for a like for like to replace for Lineham, arguably Lineham is a better defender than Fonua, Fonua a slightly better attacking player though 54 tries in 68 appearances puts Lineham as the best return of tries for any Hull winger in the last 100 years.
ATEOTD it's always difficult, impossible to know/predict how a team would go with or without any given player, even pivotal ones. It is what it is but as others I feel it weakens us enough particularly at a time when we are already short of numbers that it could make the difference between making the 4 and not but it's an opinion like most things on here.
As I said in the M8s thread, we lost 12 games from 30 last year and were 3rd, I reckon things are going to be just as tight with a handful of points covering 4 or 5 teams with possibly one team surging ahead (Saints) like Cas did last year.

Now the players haven't got any power.

How much did we pay for Fonua?
I know you don't watch many games but to say there isn't much between Fonua and Lineham in attack is just laughable, Lineham was as bad if not worst than Fonua as he was often out of position, I remember one game he cost us 3/4 try's in a game. I would say Fonua was/is 10 times the player Lineham.
Westerman didn't improve when he left hull, he had a few good game, then reverted to his inconsistent self, that's why they sold him and he isn't even playing in SL now.
I honrstley can't believe (actually I can) don't understand the mess Gentle put us it with his crazy recruitment and that we had to go backwards to go forward.
It's just another negative post and anti Radford post.
I honestly don't know why you support our club.
We have just had our best two seasons in years, Radford is our most successful coach in years, but you rarely post anything positive and never give Radford any praise.

SALARY, he was on more money than Lineham was, who mentioned a fee?
Not anti Radford, an opinion on how we went without certain players based upon what actually occurred, the facts on Crooks and Miller are there to see, we won more games with them than without so losing them/not playing them DID have a negative effect.
Radfor did play Westerman out of position/not in a role to get his best, this is mentioned lots on this forum by plenty of forum members, that's why we didn't miss him that much (IMO)
How can you make the call as to how we miss/don't miss players unless you make a comparison, that's what I did in a reasonable manner and all you can do is yet again attack a poster for an opinion.
pathetic!

Is Hodgson the new Griffin, or is it all about pace?: |

He's been on such a roll this week, we've had the Westerman Saga, Team selection Easter 2016, the Pritchard Chronicles and now the Watts Conspiracy.
He must be devastated.'"
Crikey - the Miller and Crook Mysteries has reared its ugly head again.
Didn't anticipate that one.

| Fonua was that poor he made the Dream team both years that he was here. Then again what do the players who had to face him know?

radford and pearson wouldn't have sold one of their best players mid season for no reason'"
The fact he makes the comment about Radfords rules says a lot and he kinda ducks the question about his off field behaviour.
If as it been rumoured it's a decision that has been made with the input of senior players then for me the club are right to have got rid as good as Watts can be.
Who's to say we won't see an immediate positive reaction from the players after the decision?
Ateotd the decision will be better for the club in the long term but is a positive from the point it was made.

Where have I attacked you, stop being a baby.
How do you know Fonua was on more money than Lineham, any evidence, the way Gentle handed out big contracts i wouldn't be so sure.
Just because our results got worst when not playing players doesn't mean we missed them, with them playing the results might have been worst, they can be many factors for worst results, injuries, teams you are playing etc. Neither were good enough at the time at Hull, despite giving them plenty of chances. It was Gentle fault Miller failed, he played him in the wrong role.
Warrington and Torronto both played Westerman in the middle

| Briscoe and Carvell are the only two players who left Hull in the last 10 year that have gone on to better things as ones I wish we could have kept.
