It's complete unrealistic to expect Williams to come in against a top SL side and run the show which is what you seem to be wanting.

Aye. The thing is too is that Washy is a fine player who could have a big future in the game. He has suffered in recent years through a mixture of injury and being played out of position. I have always seen him as a 13 but with Westerman here I can't see him getting much gametime there. Only time will tell if he can make a decent hooker from the bench but I would say he has a good shot. I just hope the fans lay off him and see how he goes.

what big future would this be? He's nearly 26 for goodness sake, if he was good enough he would be holding down a starting place as an automatic choice, but he's not even as a good a utility player as Richard Whiting. Unless he has a remarkable season as back up to Houghton, this should be his last season at FC, the signing of Westerman shows where Hull FC's future at Loose forward is going. |

Washy really needs to prove himself this season, because imo last season he was poor. I appreciate he has been moved about and suffered injuries but so has Whiting, yet Whiting imo is in a different class.

we should not even put judgment into his game yet mate, he has had one sucessful run out and looked supremely confident , lets heap praise on him and build his confidence as well as his skills, thats all it deserves right now |

Thats a good point well said i guess , however he has never really seen himself as a 9 until recently and to be fair to him he looked very good and comfy in that role, yes he was blowing a bit towards the end of the 1st half because lets face it playing 9 is a demanding pos and he isnt a small lad and i think the need to get to PTB areas caught up on him but he will get there... |

Most thought Tommy Lee would get there
Washy is not and never will be a 9.....Worrying if about a 25 yr old who is not a 9 getting there is not were this club should be going...Not good! |

Washy will do ok , hes not a specialist I agree but he will do a job thats for sure as he showed on Sunday by no means the finished article at hooker but will get there...
Remember we have a superb young gun as starting 9 now who can do 80 if needed
