Think people believe agar tells the players 'dont bother putting 100% in lads, something will happen for us'!! The attitude of the players on the pitch is more of an issue, and before you all get on about agars man management and motivational skills, a player should take pride in their own performances without having to be told to play well.'"

And a coach should be able to respond to and improve poor performance. agar has shown absolutely zilch in over a year in the job to suggest he's up to it

Exactly. I dont understand how people can think that 17 players go out there every week and choose not to put the plays on and choose not to move up in defence etc.
How is Agar becoming free from blame here? Surely if he worked on the attacking patterns with them in training they would then put them on in a game, and if they dont he should have the balls to drop them for underperforming. I dont get how this is the players fault?

All very well and good, but none of that saved Sharp from the axe.
Most people accept that the players share the blame, but Agar is spectacularly failing to deal with it. It's also the job of the coach to identify weak spots in the opposition and devise a game plan to exploit them. There is evidence that against Wakey at least this simply wasn't done. That's unacceptable.

Agree with the player responsibility thing completely.
Agar is however doing himself no favours in his team selection and interchange management. His two biggest failings for me. On the PR side he has to stop setting himself up to be caned. You dont go out saying that player's are under pressure for their places/senior players are letting you down etc. etc. then do nothing. You dont say that you want to play expansive rugby then send one of your only footballers to Widnes and drop the other one who could play LF to 18th man (and who puts it in week in week out) in exchange for playing a slow prop there. You don't lose a whole heap of matches and not try something different in selection and structure. Hull fans in general know their rugby and whilst we all have different ways of communicating our thoughts I don't think Agar or Rule should be in any doubt that the majority can see the failings and worse still can see when they are not being addressed.

If you are not part of the solution then you are more likely part of the problem...: |

Agar is not free from blame at all because he does control tactics, interchanges and selections etc, which have me baffled most weeks!
However the closenes of super league means that mistakes get punished and off the top of my head at Wakey in the first half we had Berro kick out on the full then knock on a risky Thackray offload - both in our half. Tickle and Radders giving away penalties on the 4th and 5th tackles - invite Wakey into our 40. Result 18v0 down and mountain to climb.
I want the senior players to stand up when things go against us not wait for the next man to grab the game by the scruff of the neck.

I want out tactics to be correct and the small errors wouldnt matter. Most teams make them, we just dont have attacking plays etc to gloss over them like teams like saints.
