Interesting indeed however where in either of those does it say the quote from an earlier post that was then also quoted as being true " Rule said a coach wasnt that important "

Oh but Expro why roll your eyes? You didn't ask for quotes you asked for links to backup what was being said. What better then than two prime examples of Rule implementing the very policy that he is thought to believe in.

Quote: garry brindley "After five years with the Black and Whites, Hull FC is a club that means a lot to Agar which made his decision to put pen to paper on a contract extension even easier.
“This is our club, I have spent a long time here and have some great friends in an around the club, both on the staff and supporters as well and I think it is very much about the team,” Agar commented.
“I have always said that you are only as strong as your weakest link and I am really happy that I have a very supporting and trusting coaching team around me and we will continue to work very hard. '"
"Richard, you are the weakest link. Good bye"

fonds blancs/Sid.gif I have lost interest:fonds blancs/Sid.gif |
|
| I havent read through all 15 pages of this thread so I may be repeating someone.
Noble won what he won at Bulls when the salary cap was being fiddled to the max by the Bulls . Their pack was amazing but when they trimmed their budget the pack had to leave to fit in the cap.
At Wigan he did nothing and they only stayed up when they broe the cap to sign Fielden or else they may have even gone down and he would have been described as the worst Wigan coach for 40 years.
WHY are we hoping Noble comes in ?????????????? safe pair of hands , that's all.
WE need a McGuire not a Noble , look what McGuire did with NOble's team !!!!!!!!!!!
Please , please no noble appts

Noble left Wigan on the verge of winning trophies and McGuire has credited Noble for the work he has done. Not saying Noble is perfect but i'd welcome his appointment.

on the verge isnt the same as winning them though is it
they need to seriously look for a decent coach instead of just appointing the first idiot that comes along for a change, then seriously change the team i`d keep a maximum of 6 players from the the current 1st team and rid the rest

'Idiot'? Noble is far from that and he's a 100 times more accomplished than our current coach. I think most people agree we'd prefer to get 'the next Maguire' but we recognise our board wouldn't be capable of finding/recruiting him so Noble is an obvious and solid choice.
As for the squad I disagree we need another major clear-out although Dowes, Washbrook, Horne, Long and Fitzgibbon will be/ need to be shown the door at the end of this season

Fitzy because he's retiring.
What's Noble done recently? Well last year he put virtually a scratch team together at 2 or 3 weeks notice and miraculously got them to finish only 2 places behind the Hull FC side that Rich Agar had had 2 1/2 years to construct and refine. Noble's achievements at Wigan are being underplayed too, he saved them from relegation and then twice got them within a game of the GF, the second time it was only down to a bounce of a ball that they didn't get there. Now I agree with you that nearly winning something isn't the same as actually winning it, but if so many people are willing to give Agar credit because he once 'nearly' finished 4th then I think Noble deserves far more credit for what he did at Wigan.

Mcguire was quoted in the press as saying a "huge thank you to Nobby who has all but left me a ready to go squad able to hold their own against anyone, leaving me to concentrate on individual skills"
