Quote: BrianGriffin "fantastic result IMO, nice to hear blunderside not approving of FC fans on the pitch, wonder if it would've been different if it was the rovers lot
rightly so, a few idiots could have spoiled it for the club!

Quote: Jake the Peg "Was kelly playing?

Great backs to the wall win but massively costly in probably losing ellis and pryce for the season. We really should have won by more but were completely out on our feet in that last 10 minutes so just grateful we won.

Stupid that we've left lineham out for so many games. He's a real match winner and will be missed next season'"

Quite funny. I agree with some of your points and others completely opposite.

Kelly was Rovers top tackler I think. As well as being instrumentaal in their kicking game (we couldn't catch any of his kicks, and our Super 8 opponents will note this) and their best passing plays.

We bombed a few chances but had a couple of borderline decisions go our way.

Lineham was excellent and it is criminal we've allowed another great player to leave to a top rival.

If someone wants to leave then let them go. Hardly "criminal".

If I was a Hull KR supporter (thank god I'm not!), I'd be pretty depressed. Defensively awful. Linehams try was brilliant from an attacking perspective, but equally appalling from a defensive one. He should have been smashed into touch. I bet he couldn't believe his luck.

That said, fantastic effort against the odds with losing Ellis and Pryce, debatably two of our most influential players. Defensively we were brilliant and Mini was for me the MOM. Syned controlled them game and I thought Houghton, Whiting and Michaels had notable performances as well. Lineham as usual looked very dangerous every time he got the ball, he'll be a big miss for us.

Gutted to lose Ellis, but heartened to see we stayed together and put that effort in even without him on the field. Were not the most skillful Rugby League team in the world, especially when attacking from short range but the lads are certainly playing for each other at the moment!

Jordan Abdul is a very special player he seems to have time on his hands with ball in hand it's something players don't usually have & at his age, if he's nurtured correctly he will be as good as Jason smith. Great win tonight with a small subs bench, well done FC.

kelly is a great player but he was their top tackler because we ran at him all night and he was pretty ineffectual with ball in hand. Other than the forward pass to puletua he offered nothing in attack IMO other than running around a bit in midfield. Sneyd far and away the best half back on the field

How Blair got the no 6 shirt is beyond me. Maybe the 8 or 10 wouldn't fit him.

I'm not going to respond to everyone individually but my point about Lineham is that we've had several good players over the past few years. The ones that have left have always been dismissed as "wanting away", "a bad apple" or some other derogatory term that implies that the problem lied with them.

Why do we never question why they want to leave? If the club had managed the players better over the past 10 years we'd have had considerably more success than we've had. Note I'm not singling out any particular coach or management regime here, it's been going on for years.

It's just sport players move on. It's frustrating as a fan but we have to get on with it. You don't worry about what you haven't got you work with what you have. Money new coaching set up different culture possible silverware are a few reasons players come & go.
