Depends on the alternative. Given we've been so far off the pace the last 2 years, I don't think we can afford to run with a free spot in case someone good becomes available. So we need to fill that spot in the next couple of months. All hinges on the quality of the back we're supposedly chasing and whether they are sufficiently more valuable to a squad that's light in the backs than Sam. I hope it's sorted out soon as to leave it hanging isn't fair to him.

Robinson i think it is from Parramatta can cover centre as well as off half, never heard of him just going to have a look |

We need some QUALITY half back cover and another big forward for me.
If big Sam is going to miss out, whoever comes in has to be of real proven quality and then, IMO, we should be looking for a good British forward.
Otherwise, I would sign Sam and look for a good young British back in the mould of Stefan Ratchford.

I doubt Salford will let him go after losing Myler and Turner. However I rate Luke Gale at Harlequins still only 21 and a product of Leeds Rhinos academy system, which is the best in RL IMO. |
