| Quote: UllFC "this is my main issue with the whole thing. If HullFC finished bottom of SL and were relegated under a normal system, I would have no issue with paying for a pass to see us in the 2nd division at a reduced price (to reflect the lesser quality of the games, and the lower salaries of the players) but this is something different.
either you will have to pay for a 26 game pass where you don't know who you are playing for 4 of the games, or the club will do a 22 game pass and then an 8 game 'mini pass' which no-one sane would buy until they knew who we were playing!
the result is that you'd have 4 games that are 'pay on the day' plus potentially another 'playoff' home tie too. Many fans woulden't be able to afford 5 pay of the day games in the space of 2 months, and as we saw from our dreadful attendance against Catalan in the playoffs last year, and for CC games the fans don't turn up for 'pay on the day' games, particularly the ones that are on TV.'"
I believe our Club and the rest will do a one season pass they have to, the other scenarios are financial suicide and anyway doesn't anyone consider that if you finish in the top 8 you'll play those teams 3 times maybe 4 times depending on the paly-offs which could at the very least be pretty repetitive, but whatever happens no one will know who they are playing in the last 6 games until round 23!

| All ifs here but pre season game v kr , 2 league games v kr , magic weekend v kr , then league breaks away to top 8 and we play kr , we could then play them in play off . Possibly 6 derby games in a season I just don't think my heart could take it And god forbid we drew them in the cup and made it 7

| So when it beaks away into 3 leagues of 8, do you keep your points total or does it reset in the top league?

The top eight from Super League and the bottom eight from the Championship carry forward their points. The middle eight start from scratch.

| It could happen, unlikely though as SL teams will be FT playing against part time clubs. It could happen that a club is relegated two divisions in one year, if they finished below 8th in SL then in the bottom 2 in division 2 when the leagues break up.
One good thing is more games, guaranteed to get 30 league games a season. Not convinced about the whole thing though.

| They would better doing magic weekend in the 2nd stage, then they could play 3 home games, 3 away games then a game at a neutral ground, much fairer system.

Could quiet easily scrap the magic weekend for me.

I agree and it really would be magic if it was the 8 best teams playing.

| I think the basic concept of 2 stages isn't too bad.
What I think is totally unacceptable is the idea that you play each team once, with 3or4 at home and 3or4 away.
Whatever they come up with to select the fixtures, some teams will benefit and others won't.
It can't possibly be a fair and equal.

It's based on league position though. A reward for finishing 4th after 23 rounds, rather than 5th, is that you get an extra home tie.
In the promotion-relegation series, the inherent advantages of those coming from the the top 12 means that 4 home games for the Championship teams seems an appropriate way to balance things out slightly.

| Personally more concerned with how this is going too affect youth development.
With so much at stake now are teams going to be willing to give youngsters a chance.

The cap in the second tier will be £900k. With improved funding at the top end of that division (which I fear will unbalance it, but still), possibly renewed hope and greater incentive for 'investment', the aim will be for [isome[/i teams in that division to be full-time.
This is a more re-distributive system than we've had previously. Top tier clubs won't be better off, directly as a result of cutting to 12, as they would have been if we'd gone back to the pre-licensing system (the RFL will say this structure aims to bring in more revenue from sponsors and broadcasters, of course). On the other hand, relegation doesn't have to be quite such a dislocation, replacing a whole full-time squad completely with a part-time one from one season to the next.
