| Would expect Rovers to demand a fee but it may not be as high as people expect. They need him off their cap

I think it might involve a swap deal for Litten, appartley signed a new deal at Hull, but just don't see where he fits in.

| If Abdul went back to the Dobbins it would cause them no end of issues salary cap wise.
Agree about Litten. Not sure where he fits in. Moy brings more pace at full back and we’ve got Dawson/Westerman at centre and Barron/Martin on the wing.

| Don't think Rovers need Litten
Wingers Burgess, Hall/Davies, Evalds, Broadbent
Centres Hiku, Opacic, Gildart, Broadbent
Fullback Evalds, Hiku, Broadbent
I'm sure I've missed some options off too
Think if they didn't sign Broadbent it could be a possibility but I don't see hum getting a game

Heard a little rumour that Opacic might go back.
Oficially they have Corey Hall too, but can't see him being there next season.

You think we’d let him go free to you lot? The exchange is happening. Myler doesn’t have a clue.
Charles at rovers as back up to Tyrone and Lewis for 2025 nailed on.'"
He maybe under contract, but Rovers seem keen to relieve themselves of his deal and the cap he takes up so it would be very surprising if they are offering him to other clubs to then ask for a fee.

I'd also say that relations between the two clubs seem to be quite good at the moment. The Reynolds loan along with Aydin's inital loan and eventual permanent switch as part of an exchange with Brown are examples of this. The HDM article says that Rovers have given us permission to talk to Abdull and won't stand in his way if he wants to make the move. There was definitely times in the past when neither club would have allowed this.
As for Charles, that same HDM article says that the club see him as our long term future and plan on Abdull being a mentor for him. So pretty much the exact opposite of a swap deal. This is just mischief making from teddypicker.

I personally would hope we'd get a fee for Abdull but I reckon we will let him go for nothing, I'd also assume you aren't the only club in for him so will have to throw some money at him to secure his signing. You can use the marquee £50k loophole but then you'd have your 3 marquee spots taken up by Abdull, Asiata and Trueman. Hell of a lot of risk there with all 3 not having great injury records, maybe a risk you have to take.

| are we actually sure Trueman is Marquee? I'm not too sure in all honesty? Maybe wed still have another Marquee spot even after Abdull signs?

That HDM article doesn't mention anything about a fee but that doesn't mean there won't be one for you. It's a strange thing in rugby league how many times players just move freely between clubs but you never know. As for other clubs, I know that Saints were rumoured to be interested and Catalans have the option on him for next year but maybe it's the draw of coming back to his hometown that is swaying him (and the cash! )
Definitely a risk injury wise but as you say, one we probably have to take at the moment.

| I don't think the marquee rule matters too much for us, we will have loads of cap space for next season.

Seems to be some debate on this. We seem to have gone from believing we have no marquee players to Trueman suddenly been a marquee player. However, reading the rules on marquees you need to have at least one federation trained player as a marquee in order to have three marquee players overall, otherwise you are limited to two. So we've maybe registered Trueman as a federation trained marquee when previously he was just part of the normal salary cap allowing us to bring two more in (Asiata being one and Abdull the other it seems).

| You can also remove players from bring a marquee signing, so if Truema was one and it was better to use on a quota player you could take him off at the end of the season.

Given his injury record and the fact he only has until end of next season on contract with us, it would be common sense to remove him from the marquee list if he is indeed one with us right now.

| IF Abdul is going to be a marquee player on a minimum 2 year deal then god help us !!!
Notorious for his poor training attitude & inability to keep himself in good shape.
We had the best of him ( except for when his kicking game for KR destroyed us at MKM ) why did we let him go ? 'He likes his kebabs...... Jordan Abdul he likes his kebabs'. His best days are behind him - KR & Catalans are testimony to that - why do people think we can wave a majic wand, and transform him, all the evidence is we take average players & make them worse.
Mentoring ?? Come on - which of our truly promising youngsters have we signed up long term, Davy Litten & Denive Balmforth were the big hopes for this year, neither can break into the team which is about to set new records for losing.
Could accept JA as a squad player who can play 13 but really ? He will be nowhere near marquee money now & he has NOT pushed on, if AP still signing the cheques he hasn't learned the errors of the last two seasons.
