Quote: Smiggs "But we also conceded 44 points that's the most St's have scored against anybody so far this season.'"

And it's a very poor defensive performance by any standards.

The fact that Maloney stood out today shows that our attitude and enthusiasm is still not what it was at start of the season. Not a criticism of Maloney, but he hasn't previously stood out.'"

He played pre-season, and has continued to train in front of Agar. If he had showed that he had more to offer than the other props he would have taken their place.

The point I was making is that when all of our front rowers were putting it, he hasn't shone. Is the fact that he did today due to him having a better attitude than other players, or should he played more games?

Saints were top drawer in patches today and were 12-0 up after 12 minutes. They were pretty much full strength. We are 8 players short, playing G Horne on the wing FFS. We were dismantled by their quick PTB and outstanding backing up, and had no answer the likes of Puletua and Fa'asavalu but we didn't chuck it in and scored 22 points which was better than I expected given the personnel each side had available.

Also better than I expected. And a lot closer margin than I feared as well.

Why Kearney? He's contracted, currently coach of the WC champions.

Folkes, Murray, Lang would all be easier to aquire.

Quote: sara "You seem to forget that we just put 22 points past a very confident and clinical saints team. Not many teams have managed to do that. We just need to get a win and gain more confidence. Maloney sounds a great player just what we need.

Getting rid of Agar is not the anwer. We need to cut out the mistakes and work on our defence - thought that was down to Jon Sharpe?!?!?!
10 of which were effectively after St helens had switched off

What difference does that make whether saints were switched off - it won't say saints 44 - hull 22 but saints switched off icon_razz.gif

The point I was making was that other teams have beaten saints at home scoring less points.

We are still scoring points!!!

Got to take some confidence from that.

Sounds to me like Saints were just going through the motions.

what is it with people and Kearney!!

he would not be allowed to coach NZ and spend all year living in england coaching HullFC! yes he has an NRL job, but thats a few hours flight away not a 24hour day trip to the other side of the world.

neither is he going to quit his NZ job to come and rescue us!

people need to stop living in dreamland
