| I know it's all about making a fast buck, but Hull FC is known for it's irregular black and white hoops. The rugby league world identifies the pattern with the club. If you want to make a statement in a new market, do you go with something that immediately identifies your club, or do you go for an off the shelf design from ISC?

| Quote: Dave K. "Seriously do you ever have anything positive to say about the club, why do you bother to support us? In your 3 posts you have critised the shirt, Fonua and Pritchard, all of which was over the top and untrue. You have also critised Radford a few times about his use of youth players (again you made up stats about games played and was wrong)
Waste of time replying to as you will do what you normally do and ignore the replays when you know you are wrong.
I think we all like a moan now and again, but you are so negative about the club.'"
Seriously do you not read anything except justified criticism?
The tour shirt available to the fans is awful, I said I liked the T and the hooded top, I gave an example of what I believe would have been a far more attractive look, one the fans could identify with not something that only has the club crest to say it's Hull FC. all you've done is come on to slag me off for having an opinion that others have agreed with.
Which stats were wrong then, c'mon, back it up!Though not like no-one ever has made similar errors but my criticisms of Radford are not blinded like some, I've also given plenty of praise when deserved. As I said you only want to see what you want to knock/don't agree with opinions without actually saying anything solid to back your points, laughable.
Talk about turning a perfectly amiable discussion into yet another bitch fest!

| Quote: westdock boy in oz "Thought this myth was debunked ages ago. Most were black but there were plenty of green `hulled' trawlers sailed out of Hull.
Green was also the predominant colour of most terraced houses on Hessle Rd in the 50's, as the cheapest paint, (bring your own tin)
was from a small factory in Edinburgh St IIRC. (They only made one colour!)
It is a very nice shirt though.'"
I had forgotten altogether about that paint factory on the left behind the big doors in Edinboro street, as soon as you mentioned it I could smell it all over again!!

So was this unlucky green thing an urban myth?

| No our next door neighbour said that they never took anything green on board but the only paint you could get cheap in the 50's was green and most houses down our street were painted with it.

Brought up on Hessle Rd, - most of the kids from our school were from `fishing families'
Both my grandads, my dad,& my 9 uncles, spent their lives on trawlers & I'd never heard of it, until I read it on here.
Its possible certain families had an aversion to green, but I never knew of any, (unless I lived my life in a bubble)

| Hats off to our retail department once again.
Some fans might not like the shirt or the colours, which is fine, but what really matters is whether it sells, and it sounds like this range has flown out of the shops.
I understand what some are saying about us not pushing our irregular hoop brand out in Aus (we are playing in the home kit vs Wigan), it's a valid point. I suppose it's a case of weighing it up between short term retail success, and what [icould[/i happen further down the line. Personally, I think they've got the balance right playing one game in each.
Also, the one colour that should NEVER be on a Hull FC kit is red, not green

Yes, absolutely "hats off" to our commercial department who didn't send me my season pass, charged me for "recorded delivery" and then told me to pick it up in person, utterly fantastic!

Challenge Cup Winners 2016 (at Wembley) - HULL FC: |
|
| Whilst 12k replica shirt sales is a fantastic achievement I am disappointed with the lack of quality merchandise, particularly polo shirts, in the shops.
I really like the polo shirts the staff wear which were launched late last year.
Went in to buy one in January for my birthday and they only had size small left. Asked when they would be getting more in to be told they wouldn't be. Once they have gone that is it until they launch a new design.
That was two months ago and I'm still waiting to see what they launch.
Appreciate they don't want to buy in so much stock they are left with loads at the end but feel they are losing custom at the moment.

| You have to be quick off the mark when the ranges are replaced, which is pretty frequent. I'm a big fan of the training shirts tbh, particularly the more expensive ones.
