| My text to Radio Humberside tonight. Was read out and all Hudge had to say was that people had their differing views, not a defence at all of the facts that elderly people are facing life shortening moves from care homes, and that the youth of Hull are faceing cuts to services. He just says EAST Hull is under invested in.
Maybe he should go see the kind East Hull chap that tampers with giro's and get some more tax payers money from him............
Text sent in read......
Quote: "RH I'm disgusted at Hull City Council. I'm a tax payer and a council tax payer. To have the council invest time and money in this stand is a travesty and I will be seeking answers on this tomorrow. When youth services are under threat and the elderly moved out of care homes due to cutbacks and the east of this city's cap in hand solicitor spokesman screams injustice once again and an MP that should be concentrating on real issues need to be disgusted with themselves. I will seek answers as a tax payer tomorrow from the council and I'd be asking if one penny of that build has robbed any Hull resident of critical services or if one penny more is invested of Council Tax payers money , I will be asking for clarity and asking the tax payers alliance, or government spending watchdog to investigate. '"
I will be seeking answers off the Council in due course

A bit foolish to factor into this years budget a £500,000 advance on a deal when he couldn't give a 100% assurance that the stand would be finished, it seems a lot of money for 2 home games FC and Broncos and 2 World cup games., but hey it's Hudge and he probably included a couple of playoff games

TBH i don't mind reading up on KR (Problems That Is).. The amount of trash most of them talk is about us so it's always nice to hear that there in serious trouble..

| Quote: HullFC50 "This topic was locked earlier as having nothing to do with Hull FC but after listening to Hudgell on RH tonight he seems to have now moved the goal posts. My question is, on who's authority has he been given authorisation to discuss HFC's arrangements with either the Council or SMC, both of which are confidential. He bemoans the fact that his club have to pay £60,000 per year for commercial rents charges, something I thought was payment towards the loan that the council has obained to enable the project to go ahead. My issue with all this is the fact that he made public our arrangements with a third party, this is not our problem but he seems happy to drag us into it and use us as a pawn to get his own way. Can anyone answer his accusations of Hull being subsidised by the Council to the tune of £300,000 because maybe I've missed something on this subject.'"
Good points all. Since when has Hudgell been privy to our arrangements with the SMC? Any confidentiality clause also appears not to extend to third parties judging from Hudgell's self-assumed mantle of revelator of 'facts' that have nothing to do with him. Shame he didn't check them to boot.
Can we expect a retort from Pearson? He's free to point out inaccuracies made by unconnected nobodies, one would assume?

It's not just a stand, it will provide other services in East Hull.

| I don't usually subscribe to conspiracy theories but if anyone thinks that Hudgell's spat with the council is not in some way connected to Allam's attacks on FC and the City Council, then they are deluding themselves.
Hudgell may come across as a passionate owner/chairman of our rivals and in many ways he is but I'm not convinced that his latest "dummy-spit" hasn't been carefully orchestrated.
This is a high-stakes game and there could be some very sorry losers

Quite. I'm worried about how much bottle/willingness-to-fight the council has.

Agree with this and the thought did cross my mind, why now? After everything that has just gone on regarding FC and the Allams the council now get dragged into more controversy. With all the cuts taking place in council services this has to be the last thing they need.

| Any hull council tax payer needs to push this issue with their local councillor. What is this alleged £300k subsidy we receive and if it doesn't exist he should be made to retract his statement.
I'm amazed that public funding has been spent on a sports stadium to benefit private owners of a 3rd rate rugby club when public spending is being cut left, right and centre. It's a disgrace and should be exposed

Maybe, seen as all those services are West of the river currently.

I made that FOI request two seasons ago, and it was rejected on "personal confidentiality grounds", I may well have to dig the original emails out and see if the recent developments have changed their stance.

Surely their register of gifts (or whatever it's called) is a public document?
