Firstly, from what I understand, we're cutting costs, no on the verge of going bust - people tend to interpret things to suit their own prejudices (me included, obviously).

Secondly we may well sell Taylor, although clearly we can't do it against his will. If HFC were the club NH suspects his agent of trying to engineer a move too, I think and hope, if there are other interested parties we'd accept their offers and not yours if they're in the same ball park. If you weren't that club and your offer were best, I'd see that differently but the intra-city rivalry would make it widely unpalatable I suspect.
We'd need to replace him, so if he wants to see out his contract, as is his right, I'd be fine with that. Only postpones the problem, so getting some gelt would be better, but I suspect the ball is in his court.

Keeping O'Meley and the Houghton extention earlier in the week is the best news for a long time and overshadows the signing of what might be our missing half back in Holdsworth.

I tend to disagree with some who thing we have lost out on a target. Far too many names have been bounded about and some on here then think they are either done deals or on the verge of joining. I'd me amazed if we didn't look at Amor, but if he doesnt want to come or he priced himself out then IMO thats not us missing out but circumstances beyond control.

Also sort of flies in the face of the socres of posts on the various rumour threads that O/'Meley was definately leaving

IIRC He was always non-fed. I may be wrong though. Our MOD AS should be able to confirm either way.
