We will never know if he is good enough or not. Can't help thinking Gentle didn't give him much of a chance. Now that he's gone let's hope someone better is coming in.

Too fat, simple as. Can get away with it in the division below but it just made him too slow off the mark and cumbersome at the higher level, which meant we never got to see his strengths. A shame because our kicking game is still awful and he has a decent kicking game in his locker. A real wasted opportunity for him.

I never saw Jamie play for you guys, but in the championship he was a very good player.
Now I know it's the championship, but some players do make the 'step up' quite easily, Chris Hill (ex Leigh) is doing well at Wire. But Chris had 6 seasons in the nl1/champ, and a season in SL when he was only 19/20. But as for Jamie, his problem (apart from weight !!) for a half back, is that he went to SL too early. After spending years in Saints academy, made only two 1st team apperances, Jamie has only really had one full season of 'open age' rugby. Thought Hull/SL was a too bigger step up, and also did you need another 6 or no. 7 ??
Maybe a 'lesser' top flight club, coupled with a SERIOUS weighchers diet would have been better for him. Still only young though, he has got the talent....honest !!
