| I know PG has stated he wants to avoid playing players out of position but if our 3 centres are out, why not consider putting Manu out there! We could still have a decent back row in Tickle, Pitts and hopefully Whiting.
Don't want to revert to Agar's old ways but with no game for another fortnight, we'd be crazy to risk Turner or Martin when niether of them are going to be more than 50% fit at best. By the time the next match comes around they could be raring to go and 99% fit.
Manu has the experience, speed and strength to maybe cause a bit of havoc out wide against a strong Leeds side. We could maybe start with him at centre, move himback into the back row after 50 mins and then bring Crookes on from the bench to use his raw pace against a tiring defence.
Dunno, just a thought !

| If Whitings fit I think he is more of a favourite to play centre than Manu.

| If needs must, perhaps we could go with Whiting and Manu as our starting centres with Crooks on the bench.
Just makes us look a bit more solid !
Still got a decent forward line in: Lynch, Houghton, Moa, Radford, Tickle, Pitts, Bowden, Green, Kent.
I'm all for blooding the kids but is starting Crooks against an in-form Wigan side which includes the bloody impressive Tomkins in their backline maybe a gamble too far? I worry that they might cut us to shreds on the edges as I think we can more than match them down the middle.

| Hang on, maybe got a better idea.
Who needs centres anyway. Lets just ask the groundkeeper to get his paint machine out of the shed and bring the touchlines in a bit. If the pitch is 20ft narrower, that should just about do it!
Seriously though, does anyone know the RL rules on pitch widths. Always thought that ours was on the narrow side compared to other grounds but perhaps thats just because our wingers never seem to have any room to go around their marker and make a clean break.

| as was said before it may be better to cop a beating in this game, and have horne, seymour, turner, aspinwall, martin, o meley, whiting back for the leeds game and westerman well on the way too, will make us a damn sight stronger

Yes. There are minimum widths and the pitch dimensions are registered with the RFL at the beginning of the season. If the pitch size is changed, it has to be registered with the RFL prior to the change, unless an on the day remarking is ordered by the officials because of problems with the pitch.
The RFL website has details under operational rules.
