It has always annoyed me, and so many of my fellow fans, when you get the "you go out there and do better then" comment, I don't profess to be a professional RL players so why the hell do I need to prove myself.

Would the same people be happy if they went to a restaurant for a meal and it was poor, but the chef came out and said "go on then, you cook something better", the answer is no.

If you get paid to do a job then, yes, you get paid to do it to the best of your ability and with maximum effort and application, if you genuinely are not talented/skilled then that is not your fault, so long as the effort is there, too many FC players, as you say, simply turn up and go through the motions, which upsets the other players around them giving their all every week.

There is no coincidence that the dedicated and professional players at FC change on a rotational basis, the lacklusture nucleus remains largely intact.

I am in absolute agreement with TKOAH here, I just can't understand this "lack of effort" kind of comment, you can see the players are trying hard it's just that they are not that good. Yet so many people think they should be world beaters. It just isn't going to happen with this team of players. And the way some people talk you'd think we were bottom of the league, not 7th!

And Key, no-one is forcing you to go to all the away games in 4 different countries. Why do you think 90% of supporters only go to home games? Maybe just pick and choose a few games a season that appeal to you? I don't understand the knee-jerk over-reaction (not just by you, but by a lot of people on here).

Does anyone care to name the players not giving 100% each week because I have not noticed which ones it is?

I have noticed some players have good/bad games but no one player who seems to be not trying.

That's a pretty bold statement given the number of players we have out injured and our lack of quality.

Not really, even if 2-3 players up the ante we would see an improvement, and there is no greater carrot than cash.

Why play pro-rugby then, and even better why not play for free?

There's a difference between money not being the primary motivator and it not being a motivator at all. Everyone needs to earn a living after all.

Different people have different motivations. Not everyone is driven by the need to earn as much cash as possible once they are comfortably off. There's no doubt that paying winning money might motivate some players, but for others it might be something less tangible that drives them.
