If you are a fan i put this to you.
Two options at the start of the year
Sorry but there was none of this clear out talk at the beginning of the season when Radford was quite happy with the squad he had.
Rubbish as a coach and even worse man manager. The club is in freefall

| radford doesn't seem to me to be the sort who will allow players to be added to his squad who he isn't happy with.

| Quote: westhullprop "SA + Talanoa both Tony signings.
Colbon was a shoot in the dark and is on nothing wages but it all counts.
Tuson on paper great signing; injuries have made him a questionable one. Thompson signing easily makes up for him.
Like ive just said above the truth about crooks hasnt been released. He trains invdividually anyone who goes down to watch training will see this. Obviously more that "doesnt like him" told will be gone end of year'"
Sorry, you're going to have to explain to me how Gentle/McRae signing Thompson makes up for Radford signing Tuson. Not that I'm writing Tuson off yet, but I don't see how a good signing by one coach can make up for a (so far) bad one by another.
On Sa, Quote: westhullprop ""Setaimata is a great signing for us. He is exactly the calibre of player we should be bringing into this club and a significant move in terms of our recruitment process," said Radford.'"
Doesn't exactly sound like he didn't want him, does it?
And on Talanoa, I'm pretty sure Radford himself said on radio that he looked at footage of Talanoa and chose him based on that.

Lets not forget Radford has also extended Talanoa's deal and claimed he was one of the best wingers in SL!
Don't get me worng I'm not knocking Talanoa as I think he has done a decent job for us this season in what us the most cataclysmic feck ups of a season.
As I posted on another thread whatever the rights or wrongs and who did what the simple fact is the squad that Radford has had at his disposal in not the 3rd worst in this league. Something is fundamentally wrong for this team to be playing as turd as it is.

We've gone from two 6th place finishes, a CC Final and getting mullered to 12th, no CC Final and still getting mullered. Pass me that comfort blanket.
My opinion is that Gentle deserved another season in charge. But when you get rid of a coach you bring in someone that can improve on the previous guy's record. Radford has failed big time.

| Quote: westhullprop "hi all,
Ive finally signed up after seeing enough hate towards radford without anyone knowing whats actually going on behind the scenes.'"
You're right. We don't know what's going on behind the scenes. Which begs the question, how do you know?
Quote: westhullprop "Majority go on like radford turns up; trains then picks the team and thats that.
Little know all the issues he and the club have; nobody on here would say anything to him in the same room?'"
Nobody thinks a head coach's job is as simple as that. And if I was in the same room as Radders I would certainly say to him that I've been far from impressed. But I'd also let the man have his say on what he thinks is going wrong and how he is trying to improve it.
Quote: westhullprop "A maxed out cap full of overpaid average national conference players who shaun mcrae and peter gentle brought in.
Players like arundel, jason crookes, miller are all top earners at the club; where are they now?'"
I won't comment on players wages as I know nothing about what anyone earns. I agree that certain signings were poor or haven't lived up to their potential. But you could say the same about signings under Radford's stewardship.
Quote: westhullprop "The paying off of holdsworth is also included in this years cap (not cheap)'"
I was under the impression that Holdsworth left before the cap went live? Therefore he doesn't count.
Quote: westhullprop "All the below are seen if anyone pays attention to build up and training
Ben Crooks
Again, not commenting on players alleged contracts and wages but as pointed out with players like Tuson, Colbon etc they were signed under Radford's stewardship. There's plenty of blame that could be laid at his door as well.
Did we approach established coaches? If so, who? All the talk from FC has been that Radders was the first and only choice.
Quote: westhullprop "Give him at least another year; bring in someone who actually knows what they are doing to oversee lee / transfers and more importantly the academy set up.'"
I would give Lee another year if I thought we were heading in the right direction. But all the signs are that we're going backwards. If they brought in an experienced head to work alongside Lee then I'd be prepared to give him more time. Not necessarily a year. Based on this years performances we'd be screwed by that point. Things can't stay as they are though.
Quote: westhullprop "Mcrae / Tony all established names but taking home a big wage and not doing a good enough job.'"
McRae I agree with but I've not seen enough of Tony yet to judge him.
Quote: westhullprop "Pearson sending again next year shos his confidence in where the club coud be; wigan where nearly relegated a few years back and look were they are now (one of the only teams to not spend the cap)
They also questioned wades appointment.
RANT OFF'"
Where the club "could" be? More jam tomorrow. The fans are fast running out of patience.
If the club could transform itself the way that Wigan did then brilliant. I think we'd all love that. But how are we going to do that? At the moment there are no signs that we can or will. When Wigan survived relegation they had a proven coach in Brian Noble in charge who I think doesn't get the credit he deserves for the job at Wigan. He was the guy in charge that saved them from relegation and helped laid the platform for the success that Maguire and now Wane are achieving. Wane might have been questioned by Wigan fans upon his appointment (and he's certainly proved them wrong) but he was a more experienced coach than Radford when he took the reins and already had the ingredients for success at his disposal. We are years behind them and based on the performance this season we'll be years behind them for a long time to come.

I was hiding under it at Huddersfield last season (Gentle's last game) can't remember where I put it now.

| None of Westhullprop's bollox explains why Radford continually plays Horne and Yeaman when THEY should have been binned off. Miller and Rankin should have been given the time Radford has been given.
Pitts is better than Tuson and Talanoa has been 75% rubbish. Feka was an inspired signing by Motu and has outdone Paea in my eyes. Thompson is a cracking find and I will be furious if he's allowed to leave.
Lose Colbon, Crookes, Arundel, Horne, Yeaman and (sorry to say this) Whiting.
Ben Crooks has done knackall this year, clearly relied on Lineham to make him look good. Another Reece Lyne. Get rid.
Lancaster's outshone him and it probably rankles.
Radfords stance at post-match interviews is alarming. "I dunno what to do, I'll find a way" is NOT reassuring to fans who are begged to come and support the team by Pearson.
We are 12th, bottom of the league now that Bradford and London are relegated.
WestHullprop is probably one of Radford's Regulars.
