The 2005 'breach' was extremely minor and got us a slapped wrist of £2500
Yes the drugs scandal was bad but do you not think that Rule was the fall guy here? I'd have him back in a heartbeat as I would Peter Sharp or Gentle.

But it was still a cap breach, and after another one just two years before, we were probably lucky to get away so lightly.
If Rule was the fall guy over the drugs issue, why did he effectively fess up?
"Mr. Rule did not contest the charge made against him by UK Anti-Doping"

The cap breach was nothing - IIRC it was a technicality which is why we got off so lightly.
The drugs issue was something else again. I don't care how much pressure he may or may not have been under from the owners he should not have made the decisions that he did. The 'fall-guy' excuse doesn't wash.

Exactly.
He lied and attempted to instigate a player cover - up involving the doping agency.
He got what he deserved, fooked off by Pearson.

| Quote: GM1 "That was 10 years ago! We're a shadow of that cup winning team. Not sure how expectations are on a team who with the exception of Yeaman never took to the field that day?'"
To use the favoured expression of a lot of players, any club with a modicum of ambition and sense would have been able to "kick on" from that cup win and although we did get to the GF the following year, that team was allowed to effectively fall apart with no plan as to how to build on the 2005 win and keep us up with the big boys. Until Wire in 2012, we were the only team from outside the old big 4 to get to the GF. The following year we lost Cooke, finished 4th and despite the cup final in 2008 have been on the downward spiral with a few blips since then.
The team now is absolutely a shadow of that team, but as a club we should be in a far better place than we are (which may affect the team dynamic). Most of the blame for that lies with the previous owners and only some with AP (IMHO)

| Can't believe that no one has mentioned that Brian Noble has admitted he's in talks with London. I know many have their doubts about Noble, but even as someone who wants Radford out, I'd be willing to give a Noble-Radford combination a go, things can't get any worse! And surely trying to turn Hull around is a better attraction that trying to revive the corpse that is London RL

Same here. Noble would come here like a shot if asked, I would imagine.

| I have said this before but I would really like to talk to Pearson about just what he sees in Radford. He obviously thinks highly of him, but listening to him talk I just don't get it. To me he just comes across as uninspiring and poorly educated. Even Shaun Wane speaks more eloquently and I'm pretty sure he's just a gorilla in a suit.

| Given that Radford has been given a public guarantee (what possessed Pearson to do this - crazy in any industry to give such a carte blanche with shoring scaffolding, never mind in a sporting club?) the best we can hope for is an additional recruit to work with him.
Who would Radford work with? Normally I'd have Noble low on my wish list but given that Noble was Radford's coach at Bradford during the glory years of all three may mean this combination could work.
Presumably Radford respects him and resonds to him. Could Noble in fact be the only person who could slot in without creating a tsunami of resentment? We don't want a split camp as what Radford himself appeared to create under Gentle ( just my interpretation of what I saw, this last bit).
