| I haven't read all of this thread, cba with readin 14 pages, but at the moment I would rather stick with Phelps. He puts in a lot of effort and is improving with every week as he gets back into the swing of things. He also has age on his side and I would wager that he would be on a lower salary than MacKinnon would be.

| Quote: TKOAH "Because McKinnon is better than Phelps. Would you replace Horne with Lockyer even if just for a year?
Lockyer is the biggest name in RL, I don't think he can be compared to this full back who 99% of people have had to google to find out who exactly he is.
I thought we had learnt our lesson about signing 30+ injury prone Aussies after the Dykes debacle.

I never said he was a superstar, and I have reservations myself as I mentioned, but the guy has class IMO, but thank you for your concern anyway.

| Phelps is younger than McKinnon but that's it. In every other aspect Wade is the better player.

Phelps is also far cheaper, younger, less 'busted' and therefore nowhere near as big a risk!

| How motivated is Phelps going to be for the rest of the season? Could we keep him as well?

The man who got us to Wembley on one leg you mean?
As for 99% of people having to google him, who'd heard of Colin Best before we'd signed him?
|
|
|
| In fact, Cameron Phelps was released by the Bulldogs early so they could sign Nick Youngquest he played 4 games for them and has since played for Gateshead, Crusaders and Castleford.
Things need putting into perspective Phelps is average but playing well.

Think he'll make way, tbh - no point using up a quota and a non-fed spot on a squad player (even with the availability of top antipodeans seemingly set to drop). Should still be motivated though - could get a deal at Widnes, Crusaders etc, so he'll want to impress.
