I hope he is used as an out and out fullback and not a utility, people are saying that he gives us cover at halfback but were in the same situation, he can play a bit of 6 but so can Turner and Westerman.
With it looking unlikely that anyone else will come in, if Long gets injured I hope we give Williams a shot, hopefully the coaching staff rate him and have not brought him in to make the numbers up, could be more beneficial long term then slotting anyone in there who is not even comfortable in that position.

Not really mate. At the time we were looking to use the quota spot for a 7, signing Phelps for that reason was and still is garbage. Signing Phelps as a fullback is completely different, I thought he would do nothing at Wigan but was quite impressive. He maybe can cover the halves but in the same way Washy can. I also don't rate him too much at centre or fullback although he is ok there but at fullback he has been impressive for Wigan and as that seems to be what we have signed him for then I am happy. Had we signed him to be our halfback cover then I would say garbage again.

Any one who has doubts about the signing of Cameron Phelps will soon be shown that he is worth more than gold! Not saying he's a saviour but a good signing for Hull FC none the less, he has been keen as mustard to get over here and can't wait to get stuck in!

Good signing for us, he was highly regarded by Wigan fans and is a more than adequate replacement for Jordan Tansey. Whats more, he appears to be a real professional who isn't going to the club about.
We are still short on numbers, though, and without another signing to give us cover at halfs and hooker it's still going to be a long season.

Whereas Hull KR finished lower than us and are skint. At least we're getting some of it right. |
