I just think it spoils the experience. I love derby day, and thats what it is, a full day. Meet up with friends and have a few drinks in town or prinny ave then onto the game. Then maybe out again after it hopefully for a few celebratory drinks. Monday means get in from work, rush there then straight back home again for work the next day.

You can't please all of the people all of the time, as an adult with no kids I much prefer night games; I loved Friday nights.

Good to see that most games are localish so away fans dont have to travel too far
Also cuts down on drunken idiots at the games so less trouble

Fooking great! Will have to rethink my flights back to Auz now!! The bleeding FC fixtures site has it down for the Friday! Monday frigging night, what a load of balls!

Doesn't help me or the family at all. Probably means I will simply watch on sky. Given how "poor" the Thursday derby was in 2010 I suspect this will be the same. Sky must be paying a lot to compensate for what I would say will be at least 6000 off the potential gate.
That said unlike in 10 we have plenty of notice and it's kids holidays so won't be so bad for families.
It does make me wonder if we moaned when we always had midweek games in years gone by when ko was 730 with a worse motorway system and slower cars etc.

And people have got the best part of 6 months to book days off. It's not as if sKY have dropped us in the brown stuff like they have with other fixture changes.

Numbers of people regularly watching superleague matches in this rugby mad city are significantly more than those who regularly watch superleague in the much larger, albeit footie mad, city of leeds

And your view is important because?

Wigan v saints fixture isn't during the football off season so it couldn't be moved to a monday, leeds v bradford is on the same weekend as the derby and sky have decided not to show it
saints v wire and leeds v saints have been moved to the monday.
