Long had a good game yesterday, agreed, but he isn't at the level we need moving forwards, Fitzgibbon runs his blood to water in defence, but it all slows down too much in attack when he gets the ball, we paid good money for Westerman and he showed yesterday we need him on the field for as long as possible when fit.
We need to stop relying on ageing players for 1 or 2 seasons and start promoting the youngsters IMHO.

As for Long I say goodbye and good riddance, has never justified the outlay we have made on him and again the money could be better spent elsewhere. Can't believe we'd offer him a deal.'"
Exactly how I see it. Even if long was playing out of his skin every time he was on the field, he's way too injury prone to be our 1st choice scrum half

I would consider giving them both deals depending upon what other options may or may not be available. No point in getting rid if the replacements are not up to the same standard.'"
There's an argument for that in fitz's case but long is too injury prone for us to spend any decent amount of money on

| Long shouldn't be offered a new deal, this latest injury setback will mean he's played just 21 games in a season and a half. A dislocated elbow and a broken finger are unlucky injuries but we need our scrum half on the pitch not in the stands.
Unsure on Fitzgibbon, what he has brought to the team in terms of leadership and his defence cannot be questioned but we have to look to the future with Westerman.

| Long injured again, probably the reason why he should not be given a new deal unfortunately.

| We shouldn't give long another year........ But it's Hull FC so of course we will. Fitz a utter legend but agree with the speed and Westerman comments. Fitz is at the end of his time so he'll need to maximise his earnings. I guess it just depends who else UK & NRL want him, would love him to stay.

I'd like to see him get the no.2 job or reserve coach job.

| I would give Fitz a deal, I can see what people say about the fact that it sometimes looks like he slows the attacking play down but take him out the side and see how much of miss he is, the guy is fantastic and his workrate is unbelievable, i think some of our supporters actually now take what he does for granted because he's so consistent.
As for long, his injuries worry me. If we can get him on the pitch then he's worth it because even though he's getting on he still as that experience that any team needs but we cannot afford to keep carrying a player who plays less than a 3rd of your games in such an important position.

Not sure I'm keen on having a member of the coaching staff living over in Wigan, it's bad enough having a player based so far away.

| I think I'd be happy to keep Fitzy, the work he does is tremendous especially in defence. Although it does annoy me when he decides to go first reciever and as soon as he gets the ball our play slows down. We must be one if not the slowest team at spreading the ball out wide.
Look at KR yesterday for Fox's break a couple of long passes quickly and our defence was strecthed, Fox was away.

Fitz maybe, Long deffo no, no. He simply hasn't played anywhere near to what he should do, with the odd exception - yesterday being one of them. I think some are getting a tad over excited with yesterdays performance.
