| I think you're being a little hard on yourselves.
At 12 - 6 you split us (Wigan) open with some superb rugby but didn't take the final pass.
Then just before half time you failed to find touch, we got a good bounce for Roberts to score.
Then in the second half we got a little lucky with Sam Tomkins second try.
It's a long season and you will get the run of the ball in some games (I hope it's not against us)
Good luck for the rest of the season, come and have a chat when we are in the Brickmakers prior to our visit.
Richard Horne was brilliant for you tonight.

| Almost every try in the first half was because of giving them a penalty in their own 30, terrible discipline.

| Just got back and feeling completely pesimistic.
A very poor performance by FC tonight. The right hand side got pummelled in defence. However, that does not warrant an excuse to give awaystupid, needless penelties or make ridiculous mistakes in dangerous areas of the field. I wasn't expecting a win tonight, but a performance would have been nice. Why did Long feel the need to pass the ball to someone else to kick in the first half? Still concerned about his hamstring? If so, shouldn't have been anywhere near the starting team.
Horne did well tonight, as did Houghton. Something has to change before next weekend otherwise we can expect the same thing.

| We won't win many games away from home as far as I can see, we may have beaten St's but the last two performances would have seen us lose to anyone on our travels.

| Quote: TKOAH "Get a grip for crying out loud, we were not that poor but Wigan were awesome and the speed they played at was incredible. We were always going to find it tough tonight, this is the first time the Wigan players have had to show McGuire they have what it takes to move on following a defeat, they beat us in the tackle for 95% of the game which led to numerous penalties, most of which led to tries or repeat sets.
Yes we weren't at our best but it will take a bloody good side to beat Wigan on that form.'"
Spot on !

On a postive note, I thought Horne, Long and Fitzgibbon looked good and your following was very good for a Friday night.'"
TBH I thought Alibert in parts was playing to the crowd.
Wigan fans was like the scousers at one point , booing every tackle Hull made.

The Hull following was fantastic for a Friday night. The official figure was 2,100(ish) which is a great effort and you deserved to see a better and more disciplined preformence.
The real plus point for Hull tonight I thought was Richard Hornes preformence. He caused us(Hansen especially) no end of problems everytime he took the ball in.

| Was Long fit? He did no long kicking.
Horne once again our best player.
Penalties killed us, we never had ther ball and we therefore had too much tackling to do, we showed when we did have it we could score tries.

We gave the penalties away because we couldn't compete with their intensity

| Horne and Fitzy really stood out for you guys. Also, that Lauaki shows great enthusiasm - really doesn't half get stuck in!
I like the Hull set up, it's just at the moment, at home, we are on fire. Obviously the ref wasn't the greatest, but as has been mentioned your discipline seemed a little off with a lot of the penalties conceded around the PTB.
Chin up and here's to a good season for Hull.

No it was because we lost the collision, they were getting up too fast, we tried to slow them down and got pinged for it time and time again.

would have to agree with that. Wigan went straight to knees on nearly every collision, but were up and ready to go far quicker than hull. Hull could not contain this. In contrast Wigan had hull on their backs in the tackle and so controlled the ruck.
This simple difference contributed to the penalty count and thus field position and possession.
It wasn't that Hull weren't inventive with ball in hand, we split them a few times, we just didn't have the ball much.
In contrast Wigan had the ball and were very well drilled in attack. We were shown how to play EFFECTIVELY last night.
