| I'm guessing the two passes mentioned where actually Dowes to Horne and Hame to Briscoe?

| Nope Matty. The cut out pass to Raynor in the second half, which put Raynor away and was the FC highlight of the game. The one real piece of quality, a pass that neither half back was capable of. Take on board what you all say, my problem is that I don't see King off the pitch like the bulk of our forum members.

| Quote lummy="lummy"Top performance last night, best forward on the pitch and once again the best ball handler in Hull's side. The pass for R.Horne in the first half and the cut out "Cooke' pass to Raynor in the second once again proved his worth to our club. A club that has next to ball handlers. Right, now I've waived the red flag at all you 'King only does it at the end of the season' mob, shoot me down. The facts are he is still a class player and has done as much to stay at the club as Cussack, Dowes and Tickle.'"
Kingy shouldn't be given a new contract he literally takes the p!ss out of the club. As soon as he knows he's signed a new contract, his consistant poor performances will soon creep back in. Time to move on for Mr. King imo.

He already has a contract for next season, as he signed a new 2 year contract end of last year.
Sayiny that he wont be with us next year as he's going to be leaving the club at the end of this season.

| His plusses are he loves the club and is a good ball handler for a prop forward, will give his all especially against Rovers. Problem is allegidly he eats the wrong stuff, drinks, the wrong stuff and is sloppy and tempramental in training. He has been the centre of rumour innuendo and controversy for years.
He is one of my favourite characters, notice I ssaid Characters rather than players, and it will be a sad day when he goes But at the end of the day we have all known this for ages and much as I love Paul in an Fc shirt, big decisions and a massive clearout are needed. We've known that for ages, now it is about to be announced tomorrow don't start getting cold feet!!! 11 players to go in total, and there are bound to be some we like, but hard times call for drastic action!
You can just hear it now can't you this board has been crammed with folks calling for players heads and the coach to take some action and have a big clear out. When it is announced it will be all the wrong players!!!

I would agree with all of that Wilf, it is always a shame to see a long term servant of the club leave. I think this could be a bit of a water shed as well, maybe the very last old style player on and off the pitch.
Love or hate him he was at the centre of the club in the early SL era when local players where at a premium. I remember sitting next to his father in one of those early games and how proud he was to see his son wearing the colours. The game has like the world has moved on and Kingy is seen as a bit of a dynosaur, the game is losing its characters. Sanisation and standardistion are the watchwords now, so out go the fags, beer, mickey ups, fights, take ways and mad Mondays..
Or do they

| I agree with what was said about his best season being in 2002. That for me sums the club up at the moment. We have had far too many players who have been living off past glory. Part of the furniture and all that. Too much sentiment at the club and indeed on this forum at times.
Bottom line is that Kingy has served the club since he was a teenager. How well he has served the club is open to debate. He had his time and could and possibly should have been a regular at international level, but he clearly didn't want it enough.
I have enjoyed the odd performance from Kingy. I have also been frustrated by him on more than enough occassions. Dropped balls, poor discipline etc etc. Some I think was down to over excitment and wanting to do well, but alot I feel is down to what he allegedly does off the field. I would not begrudge him doing that. Hell my all time fav player is Knocker and boy could he enjoy himself off the field. But times have changed even in Paul's time at the club. We need professional people at the club from top to bottom and if people are not prepared to be professional then I don't see why the club should be paying them.

Too true and exactly why we need a good clear out.
