[quote="Wellsy13":1juz9zgo]To us REAL fans, there's no better feeling than winning competitions. Getting to a final is next. Then a top 6 finish or semi-final appearance. Then I suppose the derby counts as the most important league fixture.
Us real fans don't look over our shoulder at our neighbours and do whatever we can to get one over on them. We look at the bigger picture. And this is the reason why Rovers are and will forever be considered a small club. Because their fans and board would rather get one over on Hull FC above anything else.
Quite sad, really! [/quote:1juz9zgo]

If he went now, do you think the squad he'll leave behind will be better than the one who inherited?

Currently no, because there's no inclination from a large bunch of them to be bothered. On paper we still have a decent team, but we'd have struggled to score yesterday if Cas had walked off the pitch.

No, their ability has not changed, their application has.
If he went now my biggest fear is who would come in, Sharp/Noble? No thanks to either, both failed SL coaches already.
We need to spend some money and bring in an established, top class, coach, especially before any more retention/signings are completed.

They were good enough to be important members of the team when the Challenge cup was won or when a Grand final was reached so whats gone wrong with them or the other players that quite a few posters want releasing?

| In 30 years of supporting Hull FC I think I have called for the sacking of the coach about twice, not always being a fan of laying the blame at the feet of the coach because once the players cross the white wash its up to them to preform, but now the blame has to lay at Agar and Sharp and its time for a change because its the same mistakes week in week out and the coach should be able to sort them by now.

| The only thing that will make this board take any notice will be the attendance for Friday. They have proved to be very receptive to any threat to there income.I can see a sub 10K on Friday night and that will have a bigger impact on the there collective thoughts then any loss on the pitch. I reckon that the whole FC organisation has now written off this season, its about damage limitation and projecting forward to 2010 now. The spin will be coming out in full force diverting attention away from the present and towards the bright new future around the next bend. They have been doing this for a number of years, I think that the vast majority have now rumbled them and that is a big problem for them.
I do not blame Agar or Sharp for the present mess, they do as they are told or they would not be where they are. Getting rid would be this boards usual response to poor management options, they hired them and Peter Sharp.
I now think the success we have had on the pitch, Wembley Cardiff and Old Trafford has been in spite of the board not because of them. Its time for a little honesty and openess, but don't hold your breath

“We will not accept a top eight finish as a barometer of supposed success at any point in the future whilst I am the owner of this club.
Thats why you got the Bullet Agar...Adam Pearson wants winners...not useless gits like you.

He was sacked for a damn sight less though and he had the dressing room

The challenge cup was 4 years a go, the grand final was 3 years a go.... Players' skills go down over time

Quite agree, we still have enough in the playing staff to compete but with the coaching set up we have we are gradually falling further behind.

| All the talk from James about Agar not having his own team is just a poor excuse.
When Kear got sacked, how many players did Peter Sharp bring in to take us to the Grand Final and on the winning run that very same year? hmmm
Its not the team you need to bring in, its a change of Leadership, if we have low morale, discipline etc, which it sounds like its getting worse then we need to get rid of the reason for that, and bring in fresh ideas.
Its like putting the wrong fuel in your car, it will stop, and you need to clear it out, all at a cost to put the right stuff back in before the engine will work properly again.

great point, Sharp had his faults (recruitment being a major one) but at the end of the day he flew over from Aus met 30 people he'd never coached before, improved our defence loads, went on a 13 game unbeaten run and got us to the Grand Final.
Agar has been in the FC set up for years, known several players for years but hasn't made any impact what so ever, in fact i'd even say he's been worse than Sharp last season...because at least Sharp could argue he had key players like Berrigan, Dykes, Tony and Horne sidelined for long periods. I rate the likes of Calderwood, Cusack and Washbrook but they do not play in key positions.
and at least under Sharp last season our defence wasn't that bad (about 6th or 7th best at the end of the season IIRC) compared to how poor our season was. No were leaking points for fun, as well as not scoring.

| The problem would be attracting a top coach to Hull . Who ever takes over would be working with somebody else's tools again. He wouldn't be able to bring in any overseas players cos the quota's full and there's very few quality English players available.
