Swap Washbrook for Whiting and it doesnt look too bad tbh.

Yeah he may be 'solid' and a 'workhorse' but like I've said before, these arent the type of qualities that make a good prop. I don't care if a prop plays 30 minutes in the whole game as long as he busts tackles, offloads and offers some impact, but I'm afraid Cusack is the total opposite. He is a prime example of the term 'deadwood' - he is 32/33, very average player, starting to have injury problems etc. Not to mention the fact that he takes up a quota spot, I'm sure we could have used that luxury to a much greater effect. It was pretty obvious as soon as we signed Fitzgibbon (his best mate in oz) that Cusack would be getting a new deal, but it's choices like this that make us an average team instead of being the dominant force we all know we could potentially be - poor decision Hull.FC, AGAIN.'"
Summed it right up for me. Think its a terrible decision to give him another season!

A good team but Kite would immensely improve our forwards and atkins would transform our backline, without those 2 were in the same predicament as this year! Same team with the same problems.

No team plays with exclusively impact props. On either side of the planet.

| so basically, everybody is saying its "shocking" that he has resigned for another year, but when we have posted potential teams with Cusack in "it looks competitive", or "looks good"
Make your minds up!!
Recruitment isnt over - for example if we sign o'meley then we have a balanced front row imo - but the next couple of signings will decide whether or not this re-signing is the right one or not

Spot on, the 2/3 remaining signings will decide on how competitive we can hope to be, get them right and we could be looking like a good side, providing Agar gets the tactics right.

I think who we release is more defining than who we bring in. No point shouting about revamping the squad then re-signing the donkeys and not paying off the others when the money is there to do it

To be honest I was a bit miffed with Cusack signing another deal... having thought about it if (and its a big if) we can get someone of the caliber of Kite, offer Thacks another deal (Im going from what I see on the field here) and keep Maloney on Id be happy with the pack. Rid of Kingy and Moa (bit harsh on Moa may be, dont think he's been given a proper chance as yet).

| Hes a good workhorse and gets through a lot of time on the pitch but he cant break a tackle, cant offload. For the wage he will command and he takes up a quota place we should be looking at better props than Cusack.
We have far to many "Grafters" in the team like Radford, Dowes, Cusack, Tickle and Whiting. Dont get me wrong they all work hard and put 100% in but they need to offer more with Ball in hand IMO

Totally agree with you we have enough workhorses in our team, we need to be adding people who can do something with ball in hand a waste of a quota spot for me.
