| What frustrates me is we have the team we never get a quality coach to make it work! Hodgson really?
Spend spend on the coach!

| I think if the disallowed try had been given we would have won. Video refs seem to dislike us for some reason. Looking on though, problem for us is that a lot of our players are still signed on for next year. I’m sorry, but we have a lot of bang average and also some declining players who we need to move on. Unless Pearson can get his wallet out and Hodgson is strong and makes a lot of changes, next year isn’t going to be much better. I think we need two or even three new props, a second row, new hooker, and another quality centre, maybe even a 6 or 7. I know this sound drastic but who we have at the minute just ain’t good enough consistently and our second string and young lads are poor, we have no strength in depth. All down to money though and I don’t think we have any.

| For me Scott. Fairmo. Bowden. Taylor. Masi. Can go. Fairmo already has. We need another 2 props which I believe Hodgson is sorting. Shaul will be fitter next year. We will have swift Macintosh Griffin Reynolds back. Cator lane back. We do need an overall and this year has gone to t.it's up. Sport can be a cruel game and tonight proved it.

| Ask yourselves now
Do we have a good coach? Questions have to be asked
Bowden 13 minutes first half 14 minutes second half should still be fresh yet did sweet FA so why is he playing when we have a young lad eager to have a go who couldnt do any worse
Bench
Wynne comes on for only thirteen minutes before the game goes into extra time
McNamara? how many times now have we had a player unused on the bench.Whats the point ?
Fonua would have been a more versatile and better bench option and then play Mitch on the wing
Has he improved our discipline. No
How many more times do we watch players fall asleep at the play the ball
Supporters calling for Connor to return to 6 as McNamara offered nothing there but it took three games for the coach to make the change.
personally like Brett Hodgson but i think he is too loyal to certain players and not ruthless enough.
Lets see now what Adam Pearson does now the season is over

| Every set in extra time was so poor , we are so disorganised and even some of our end of sets in 80 mins was amateurish . We need more rugby brains in the team , not just in the spine . I said a few years ago we was mentally weak , and nothing has changed . Don’t know what the answers are , but future signings shouldn’t be based on just names , back to basics for me and build gradually.

Who's this mystery prop to replace Bowden?
BH has his hands tied with this squad. It's threadbare, he's been let down by senior squad players when asked to step in (Bowden, JJ, Fonua). Long term injuries to senior players have played a part.
BH is on a 3 year deal. Its going to take that long to get any semblance of the squad he wants.

| The video ref system is not fit for purpose.
Sky will tell everyone what an exciting finish it was to the game. Reality is that it should never have got to that point, and only did so due to the pure ineptitude on the part of Thaler (again).
Joke sport I’m afraid at times.

The young lad who was named in the squad is a front row.No mystery.
My point was even as a rookie he could have done the minutes Bowden did and maybe even a bit more impact
I agree Hodgson has his hands tied but he is also coming up with questionable bench selections and leaving a player unused on the bench again then you have to ask why was he selected in the first place.
His only signing Reynolds was always a gamble given his injury record and it hasnt paid off but we have seen glimpses of what he can do but i am not sure following this latest injury that he will carry on
Next season Hodgson has his hands tied with only one overseas quota available which i understand will be an overseas front row.
Unless the club are ruthless and try to move contracted players on Like Taylor,Sneyd,Fonua,Johnstone he will be left with the same squad which only leaves his third year to bring in new players he wants.
The interesting thing is what Pearson will do now the season is over given we have not heard anything about Sao and Mau extending their contracts and it would be a blow to lose them.

Am sure you will tell us this over and over again in the next 4 month. Nothing there we don't already know and you havnt told us many many times. I agree with you on that point that we need some changes. But we already know that. Hodgson will I believe make changes for next year. How he does it I don't know. But it can be done and I reckon has already been started

| An improved performance but that's not hard given how poor the last two performances were!
Not feeling too down as I'd accept the season was over weeks ago, and personally is rather we avoid a playoff defeat and have a bit longer over winter to try and put things right.
2022 isn't going to be a lot of laughs supporting FC but if it's the pain we need to go through to get better in the long run then so be it.

To be fair I think next season is going to be a difficult one for the club. I think the promises of a better tomorrow have unfortunately gone on for far too long. I would say a good number of us just have a feeling of apathy now in regards to the club due to too many false dawns. We had a great opportunity in 2016 to kick on but we didn’t we sat back as a club, were sentimental and undid all the good work that got us to where we were in 2016.
There are too many players the club needs to move on that are still under contract which is exactly where we were at the start of AP’s ownership. If the squad we have is genuinely at the top end of the SL in terms of salary cap then as a club they have mismanaged this completely and allowed too much mediocrity on too much money.
That for me is the most disappointing thing in that we as a club just don’t seem to learn anything from previous mistakes, we just repeat them.
I am not sure what AP or BH can or will do to reinvigorate or galvanise the support for next season. The pandemic has changed the dynamics of things for so many as it is without the poor repeated failure to deliver anything close to challenge yet again. Before anyone jumps on me and says the covid and injuries have impacted us then I agree it probably has but it’s affected everyone and every club not just Hull FC but the same story come season end is the same and has been now for too long.

| Regardless of previous shocking form.
Hull v Leeds provided a fabulous entertaining spectacle, I wasn’t expecting to win, but we certainly gave everything in this game, why not in other matches who knows.
But we were cruelly dealt with by our friend Ben Thaler, even after Hicks sent the decision up as a try, Ben found numerous angles to explore a way of denying us, and he reversed the try decision, which I found difficult to understand.
A heartbreaking controversial decision which ultimately left us on our knees at the end.
This game was more like the Hull FC I have been brought up on, superb effort, and leaving nothing out on the park.
Leeds had the edge with their two genuine hookers, and their young starlets Broadbent, and Newman proved deadly strike.
But the bitter taste of being unfairly treated by a video referee, is proving difficult to forget.

Wouldnt surprise me if Adam Pearson put the club up for sale
We are being left behind now in this new era of R/L by teams with faster, fitter and stronger playing squads who unlike us have young players stepping in and making an impact.
We all know and understand that the club has too many under achieving senior players still under contract and this is what is likely to hold the club back next season as its unlikely finance is available to pay off the likes of Sneyd,Fonua and Taylor and then adding the replacements we need.
Taylor in my opinion is finished as a top front row due to his injuries and Sneyd is holding back our ball in hand attacking play.
Not sure Pearson will be able to give Hodgson what he needs for next season and we may then see a disruption in the coaching set up.
The effort was there last night but the more i watch the game you can see how slow we are as a team bunching again in the middle instead of moving the ball wide to make some yardage out of defence.
Jamie shaul was blowing like a beached whale in the second half yet he kept McNamara on the bench unused.
Whats the point of having him on the bench and what does it say to the player who played as first choice six in the previous games.
Would have been better to just leave him out with an explanation why
