It must be embarassing to have reached a "career high" where a dubious two point win in Manchester outshines a Grand Final win in the NRL as assistant coach.

Very much so. Another example of incompetence from the officials and not in the least bit surprising.

| His decisions helped to create a result that ruined my week end away. I was pretty a broken man on Saturday evening in Manchester. Personally I don't blame my team at all, the majority of refs I believe would simply have held up play whilst Martin got treatment or went off, and a pass as clearly forward as that Dobson received would have been struck off, both without any qualms from rovers players or fans. Because thats what happens when a rule is broken or a player is down injured in our game.
Silly I know, but I actually feel like Ganson is making a single handed personal attack on my belief in the spirit of our Sport. He conjures up such anger in me with his inept decision making that I as a placid person just fill with rage at what he is doing out there in changing the outcome of results.
Will the RL do anything to safeguard our game ? and the way it is projected on screens to the masses who must watch in wonder as they challenge their own vision as they see things which they thought they clearly saw as one thing being judged as something very different????. This man is not doing our game any favours. The fans of all clubs need to let their voice be heard. For a start we need to have a bigger pool of Super League refs and the RL need to do what it takes investment wise to make this happen. Only then will they have the leverage to change/penalise refs who change results with incorrect decision-making.

| Ganson had a really poor second half and the forward pass was shocking. We shouldn't have let the lead slip though but we also got some bad luck along the way. Martin getting injured gave them the ball and then they scored where he would have been defendinga couple of tackles later. Then the forward pass which was a joke. Then poor defending by Turner, Seymour and Sharp for the winning try. Wasn't really a capitulation but we had the game in the bag and where the better side for most of it.

| Anyone else think that if we had Whiting playing we would have won? To quote Dobson yesterday (who was talking to my mate) "how did the referee not see that"?

The injury was just bad luck as no one was near him when he went down . If he had gone down with cramp would you stop the game. NO.'"
But Martin didn't just go down with cramp, did he? It's potentially a career ending injury for him, almost certainly at Hull, and he had to be carried off. It was a joke that there was a spinalboard and 3-4 medical staff on the pitch whilst the game was still playing!
The game stopped for the Wigan/Saints game for an injury.

As I said earlier how many times has anyone seen a player stretchered off in back play whilst a game continued to be played ? He finished up being carried off on shoulders as the conversion was being kicked I suspect because he was near the sideline/dugout otherwise they would have carried him on the stretcher. Pathetic work from the officials.

| Just looked on YouTube to see wether the. Stretcher was on or if he was been carried off whilst Latus was scoring but there's nothing there YET, I'm not saying this didn't happen, but it seems a bit on the quick side if it did.
It looksed like he went down with cramp at the time so I'm not suprised the ref didn't stop it tbh. Usually when a serious injury happens the tacklers alert the ref, unfortunately for Tony Martin and Hull, this was a freakish injury that had none.
Having just seen the above post, scrap the first part of this post.

| Morning Ladies, my 1st appearance on here since the game. I'm not trolling or even gloating but my 2 penneth is this. The forward pass was a truly awful decision, and one that Ganson should even have seen himself from in-goal. We had moved from behind the sticks at half time and relocated in the corner, directly in line with the incident. Conservatively, the pass ended up about 3 feet forward, and Ganson immediately looked to his TJ. The real villan in the piece just ran to the corner so Ganson gave it.
There was a Hull fan sat behind me and I found myself apologising to him for such a gash decision. However, I certainly thought it was just mere consolation at the time. Seymour was the ultimate cause of your loss, as he put in a "Welham-esque" tackle attempt on Hodgson. I still can't work out why Sharp got burned for pace thereafter.
Heads up people, it was only 2 points, and if you play remotely to your potential you will be top 6, and bounce back to thump Saints. At the same time, we will revert to type and get humped by Wire. One final thing, I haven't read the full thread, but was there really any need to suggest that Dobson deserves a [i"good kicking[/i" for being a[i "cheating little turd[/i"? What was he supposed to do in the circumstances?

I don't blame Dobsonat all, blame Ganson. As for Seymour/Sharp, their effort was poor at the end put they should not have been in that situation in the first place.

Whoever said that is a bit silly imo.
Talking of poor refs, why wasn't there a big stink when Halibut gave a 20 mt restart after Sinfield jumped from the field of play and caught the ball in goal, then did a quick tap and Leeds went on to score a match clinching try?
Lots of poor refs unfortunately and it's just not getting better.
Lots of poor referees

My Mrs noticed a player down and as we tried to work out who it was, I ignored the play so I saw all the movement from the physios. Almost as soon as the first one reached Martin, he signalled and the second one ran out, followed by the spinal board/stretcher. The first gesture was pretty clear that Martin wasn't taking any further part and the speed of movement from the rest indicated to me, albeit 70/80 metres away, that it was a serious injury. Whether play stops is up to the officials, but as long as they're consistent in future and we get some benefit, no complaints
