I'm inclined to agree. There isn't much to gain - directly at least.

Relations weren't great with your old board, so maybe he's just taking his turn to stick the boot in. It has been a long queue.

Or he might offer to pipe down, and on his way out happen to mention a couple of good candidates for the Red Hall disciplinary or something.

I'd be a bit queasy playing politics with this, tbh.

I said when the story first broke that there wasn't a cat in hell's chance of the RFL delving too deep into the cupboards on this one. Rudely waking a dozing bear isn't the smartest of moves
