Home sick is a euphimism for, I have fooked up here, this place is a hole and I am not man enough or professional enough to see out the contract I signed without having a loaded gun pointed at my head.

No it's rubbish, if you're contracted you can't just up and leave and the club can't just bin you unless they pay the contract off in full. Obviously if a player is genuinely home sick (or doesn't like the UK) then it's in the clubs interest to get rid.

In certain cases, like Holdsworth were it is clearly in the interest of both the club and the player then a release will be granted, but it's usually a complicated process and needs full cooperation from both sides. Wallace has just signed a 3 year deal with the Panthers, and not played a game yet in this contract, the club will be wanting to build there whole team around him and Soward as there new playmakers. That's not forgetting that he's already played for that club before so will have friends and ties in the area, hardly likely to be homesick.
