As I understand it The Mail have got the story confused and basically wrong its cash less turnstiles that were first proposed by the SMC. The reduced tickets in advance are just an added incentive to buy earlier.
Long discussions have been going on and the Club will make a statement I'm sure, but despite it not being the original intention now I think that you'll be easily able to get in by buying on a match day!

WEST STAND TICKET KIOSK
A large kiosk will be staffed by Hull FC opposite the main West Stand reception, where fans will be able to purchase adult unreserved tickets for all stands. Reserved tickets, concession tickets and junior tickets will only be available from the ticket office.
NORTH STAND CASH TURNSTILES
The Stadium Management Company have agreed that the move to unmanned turnstiles immediately for away supporters will be a challenge to communicate successfully, so have agreed to provide two cash turnstiles at every game to allow away fans to travel and pay on the day at the gate.

Good to see common sense pervailing, however all of this fuss could have been avoided in advance. I.e. Theyve had all winter to look at online print at home tickets which would be of use to both City and FC. |

Great news about the kiosk, unfortunately I've already travelled into hull and bought my Warrington ticket haha I noticed in the article it said they would continue if successful but removed if underutilised so lets hope we get a lot of people paying on the day, which I would have done had this been put in place a week ago. Good to see they are looking at online ticketing as well!  |
