| Quote: Sebasteeno "Whilst agreeing with reasons this is coming about i dont understand why this group is even being formed tbh. Seems to me its been done so the fans can have more contact with the club and it can become more accountable to the fans but in order to do has to get into bed with the club which completely defeats the object IMO. How long will all this take because for it to gather up any momentum or power its gonna be atleast next season which means its gonna do nothing for our present predicament.
IMO more direct action is needed. Boycotting, banners, turning away from the game, anything, but it has to be more instant.'"
I think we have to be realistic in what we want to achieve while also being objective towards issues related to the club. We can establish an ISA and use it as a vehicle to deliver objectivety while supporting the club as a whole through different activities.

| Quote: Robbo4 "Maybe other people have a different idea to me with regards to what this group/club/association should be about. IMO its not about attacking the club when they do something we dont like. It should exist whether we are having good times or bad times. It should be a way for the fans to have a positive influence with the club, whether it be raising money to sponser a player or to help sign a youngster on a full time contract or organise events for the fans to get together etc and (hopefully) with a large enough membership we can voice our opinions to the club and they will listen to what the members want. If we just try to use it as a stick to beat the club with we will get nowhere and even if we did achieve some sort of change it would then quickly go out of existance.
Thanks to Dean and Chewie by the way. The only thing I would say about the proposal is that whilst it is is important to build partnerships I would say the two organisations would have very different goals and the ISA created should really be focusing on things related to Hull FC. Thats not to say the two shouldn't support each other but I'd say thats something for the future rather than part of the building process. Again just my opinion mind.'"
Eminently sensible.
You do realise that you're talking yourself into the Chair of this new ISA, don't you?

That’s pretty much the way I see it also. To have any chance of having an open dialogue and forming a relationship with the club, the group must be seen to want to make a positive contribution to the club, and not just get rid of the board/coach. If people turn up to Charleston in a couple of weeks with the sole intention of only joining the group to get rid of Kath, Rule and Agar then we are wasting everyone’s time.
The Black and White association has been raising money for youth development, providing equipment and also sponsorship for years. In the past, they have had an excellent relationship with the club, but I am led to believe that it is not so strong right now. That in part could be due to the fact that members (not the committee) are losing interest and people may not be renewing their membership. I wonder that rather than starting a new group from scratch, if their would be any mileage in approaching the B&WA and seeing if they would welcome new members and maybe change tact a little bit and organise regular open meetings with all it’s members. I know most of the committee members personally and would be happy to approach them if people feel that this could be the way forward.

| That was an idea I had a few years ago mate and spoke to the late Albert about and a very good one i believe. Both associations coming together would bring almost the whole compliment to the table.

So you think it is something to chase up?
As I say I would be happy to do this as I know several of the most of the committee members.

Under the new regime the BnW's have been pushed out to an extent and not concentrate on sponsoring the young players at the club. At one time they were a valued organisation but it seems the people running Hull now don't see them as particularly important now, which is a shame.

It is a real shame. They've been an integral part of the club since before the current lot took over and ought to be respected as such.
Perhaps a big boost in their numbers, and with it the money they are able to raise for the club, would see them given more of a voice?

They still raise loads of money and are a major supporter of our young players who rely on the B&W's for quite a lot.
The fact is the club don't seem to want to acknowledge any group, lets face it FC Voices is not worth a w**k. They ask questions but never get answers on the day, it's a sham and I not sure a new group would change any of that tbh.

Think the B&W paid for Swainy to come over for the cup final at the clubs request
