| Can't fault Rankin's effort and commitment, would like him to stay. Not sure he has got the "wow" factor but hope he gets a run of games this season to show what he can do with better players around him.
Can understand him missing his family as he is over here without a partner or children. I wouldn't mind being his surrogate mum, he can join my family for tea anytime!

He was right in the end: |

I really wish people would stop bleating on about this, hes not the first and wont be the last
Vaikona had no issues being here as a younger youngster than Rankin

This and where does he fit in with the existing young players we already have at the club who are already knocking on the door

That's unfair. People react differently in these situations. Maybe Rankin is closer to his family than Vaikona was to his? Who knows?
Personally I some wish fans wouldn't turn on players as soon as they express a desire to move on. I'm sure Rankin wouldn't want to play for anyone else in SL, he just wants to go home.
Alternatively, maybe someone could fix Jordan up with a Hull lass to tempt him to stay?

| Will be sorry to see Jordan Rankin leave but his agent has stated his priority is the return to Australia in 2016 so little point offering him a 3 year contract with a release clause.May as well just let him see out his existing contract.

| I'll be sorry if Jordan leaves. He's got the heart and passion that the fans have. Not a bad player either.
That said, if his heart wants to be home, no-one can stop that. Good luck to the kid.

44896_1303224625.jpg In a nutshell...a brissie LEGEND:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_44896.jpg |

| Great olayer in the making is rankin, just radford sees pryce and sneyd ahead of him in the halves, and shaul at fullback, and rightfully so as it stands, thing is though, like alot of players, rankin has had the misfortune of being able to play jn numerous positions and cant nail down a regular spot in either. He' s become the dreaded "utility" man, one of which we all know isnt good...... if he gets an nrl gig im sure he will be playing regularly in a set position, weather thats 6/7 or 1........
IMO you dont make your nrl debut at 16 and be captain of the australian schoolboys aswell if your mediocre or just ok, surely a great career lies ahead wether at fc or back home

| Well as we have signed Pryce what is the point in him staying? He wants first team game time and not playing second fiddle (To Pryce & Shaul atleast) Radford has signed Naughton as well so it was pretty obvious how this was going to end and what Radford had planned all along.
And for those who can't wait to wade into players because they want to go back home (& in this case partly because the coach is signing other players ahead of him) I think you have no idea what is going on and your attitude toward him stinks.
Rankin is a very good player and one we will miss, I can't see for the world him wanting to stay here especially with fans already on his case without doing a single thing wrong..

Radford planned it all along but offered him a 3 yr deal? Naughton is probably on peanuts n we'll worth a punt n me personally isn't been swept away in Jordan mania because he had some good games toward the backend of the yr n scored a few tries during n it is pleasing as a fan to see some passion from players.
But I remember plenty of games last yr were he didnt do much, lead or create. Not tearing him to bits but signing pryce was well justified. He's a young kid n pryce being around would help him but seems it won't matter as he wants to go home anyway

| Well did Radford sign players ahead of Rankin or not? Is Rankin going to be first choice 1 or 6 or not?
my point is that Radford has a plan as to whom he wants as first choice in the positions that Rankin plays and it isn't Rankin is it! That he's offered him a 3 years deal doesn't change that fact and I never indicated otherwise.
However people are slating Rankin for maybe wanting to move back home, yet can't see that the guy just wants to play first team rugby not sitting as a squad member waiting for an injury or interchange as a utility back.
As for what Rankin did last year, what utter rot, the lad did plenty and he's a 6 not a 7, compare what he did to the rest of the first 17 and there were few ahead of his attitude and ability..

We got beat by less than ten points or less about 9 times or something similar. A established half would of got us over the line a few times. Not knocking him as such. He's a young kid. But you tear our coach down at every opportunity yet you prescribe to the thinking we should carry on the same this yr as last.
He's played a full season n missed 1 so far having had an injury. He came as a 6 or a 1. Still same as best as I can tell. Shaul based on Sunday n pryce based on Sunday are currently ahead. But a season is long n it's a squad game. Wire for instance have wheeler ratchford Russell O'Brien myler playing for 3 positions. It's what good teams do.

| If Radford didn't rate Rankin he wouldn't have signed him and wouldn't now be offering him a 3 year deal.
