| My dad used to take me to Bill Bentley's barber shop opposite the Gordon Street entrance. I hated it, he used to nip the back of my neck.
Does anybody remember Les Cheeseman's greengrocers and Maltby's at the top of Brighton Street. Always bought my rabbit food there.
Incidentally this must be one of the best threads on this forum.

| Does anyone remember Barnetts fish shop down Osbourne Street,it was owned by a Jewish family and fried in some oil.They were fantastic.
Mallorys on Hessle Road,used to go in with my mates to buy bamboo canes to make bows and arrows.

My first film there was Chitty, last one was Star wars , great old flickers that was,
especially as my uncle arthur was one of the doormen there, mostly did saturday mornings so guess who never paid
