Firstly I'd like to say I hope the lads not too badly banged up and is back playing for you as soon as possible.

I can't for one minute think that Phelps would put himself at risk of injury by not looking at the lad if he was trying to do him. In my (Widnes) black and white specs it just looked like a fully committed challenge between 2 players and Lineham was on his way down as Phelps came into contact with him.

But what was he challenging?
Was he challenging for the ball? Certainly didn't look like it with how low his arms where (until the final second just before contact) and he could hardly have been challenging for a tackle as Lineham didn't have the ball.

Nobody else catches a ball with their elbows that far away from their body.

Terrible news for Tom. He's been playing really well since his debut. As people have said though, Sharp can't be far away?

Just looked at it again. I honestly think that they were both miles away from the ball due to the committed nature of their attempts to get to the ball (if that makes sense)

. I reckon they both realised they weren't going to get the ball due to how close they were to each other/other players. Lineham was crouched and Phelps was on his feet when they collided.

Let the disciplinary do their job on this one.

phelps should've walked! he had one thing in mind and that was to take tom out! ganson should be ashamed for having to rely on info from elsewhere, (mainly lynch) to go back to the infringement!

It was a disgraceful challenge, true Lineham was miles from the ball, that proves that Phelps never even looked at it, as soon as he knew he was going to fore arm Lineham, he made a token gesture to loko at the ball. Pathetic cowardly thing to do. Throw the book at him, scumbag.
