Which is why PG is keen to change the squad in order to change the culture. He wants fully rounded professional players. Many older British players have bad habits or ar just not that bright. Hence his intention of using young british players that he can mould together with experienced players that he sees as good influencers. Ellis probably epitomises his ideal player. Lynch is similarly professional. O'meley probably isn't. Tough ask though to find the right players and keep everyone on board during the process.

| Quote: Wellsy13 "It's become a recurring theme this season and really needs addressing. I'm going to go a bit "Phil Clarke" in stats here, but it does highlight a huge problem area for us.
Here I've listed the round, opponent (home/away), score and what happened in the last 10 mins scoring-wiseWire (h) 20-20 - 79th min try to Wire.
3. London (h) 22-14 - 71st min try and con to London.
4. Salford (a) 24-22 - 71st min try and con to Salford + 80th min penalty.
5. Wakefield (h) 14-10 - 71st min try to Wakey + 76th min try and con.
6. Saints (a) 10-22 - 71st min pen to Hull + 77th min pen + 79th min try and con.
7. Widnes (h) 58-10 - 70th min try to Widnes + 80th min try and con.
8. Castleford (a) 28-42 - 77th min try and con to Hull. 80th min try and con to Cas.
9. Bradford (h) 24-18 - 71st min try to Hull + 77th min pen.
10. Hull KR (h) 36-6 - 73rd min try and con to Hull + 80th min try and con.
11. Huddersfield (a) 22-4 - 70th min try and con to Hudds + 76th min try and con + 80th min pen.
CCRnd4 Hull KR (n) 30-32 - 70th min try and con to KR + 73rd min try and con + 80th min try.
16. Saints (h) 18-18 - 80th min pen to Saints.
Out of 16 games, we've failed to prevent the other team scoring in the last 10 mins on 13 occasions.
Of those 13 occasions, the result changed from us winning to us drawing twice, and from us winning to us losing twice. A total of 6 dropped points (we'd be joint top).
Out of 16 games, we've only managed to score more points than our opponents in the last 10 mins 4 times. We've drawn once.
Two clean sheets were lost in the last 10 minutes, both managing to score 10 points.
Of the 342 points we've conceded in games this season, 104 of them were scored in the last 10 minutes. That's nearly 1/3rd of all points in 1/8th of the game period.
Of the 388 points we've scored in games, 46 of them were in the last 10 mins. That's fairly proportionate. A little bit less than 1/8th of all points in 1/8th of game time.
We've only been the last team to post points in a game on 3 occasions this season.
It's clear to see this is a major issue we have as a team. To concede 1/3rd of all your points at the back end of the game means we're either not fit enough, not concentrating enough or not mentally able to cope in pressure situations. I hope this is an area PG can strengthen as we won't win anything for a while.'"
I would agree with you, but stats don't always reveal the full story. In the London game we had a man sent off and the weight of pressure finally told on us. The three I've highlighted above all had Steve Ganson as the ref and we didn't get a penalty in the second half of the games with Warrington or HKR and the last 10 mins against Wakefield when we were cruising 14-0 we suddenly did everything wrong and conceded penalty after penalty. Yes we do concede late on but I don't think it's just because we switch off.
Good post though!

| Quote: Wellsy13 "It's interesting to see that people are suggesting the use of Manu and Tickle for 80 mins could be contributory. There is certainly an issue here. When a third of all your points conceded come in the back end of the game, it shows there's a fatigue issue. Either physical or mental. Trophy winning sides don't die off in the last 10.'"
Trophy winning sides either pinch a game or put the other team to the sword, something of a rarity for us.

| We need a hooker, Houghton gave away the penalty at Salford and it looked like his performances are starting to take their toll on Sunday, he really didn't have a clue about what was going on

| Quote: Jake the Peg "3 of our forwards playing 80 minutes a week contributes. houghton is unavoidable but there is no reaon to make manu and tickle play the full game every week. Fatigue must set in'"
Even though they have had a couple of weekends off not long ago?
Not saying you are wrong, but maybe they are just not 80 minute players who are doing the 80mins.
Manu seemed to really struggle when he first moved up to doing the 80, and (imho) has often been less affective then when he came off the bench. I personally believe that at best, he is a 60 minute player.

He have a hooker, he's just not played yet. Gentle recently said that he wouldn't swap Houghton for anyone, but he noticed that towards the end of last season he started to drop in quality. Heremaia could come just at the right time for us. What other club is going to bring in an NRL finalist hooker half way through the season?

I'm confident in what the club say and I believe he could just be the boost we need.

| Well, we didn't concede in the last 10 minutes. We just conceded 22 points in the 20 mins before it to make up!

| Your forwards looked out on their feet in the last 30 today I said to mates early this week if we are still in with a chance in the last 20 we can do it.Even when you scored in the first throws of the second half I said to mates this lot are starting to tire.Think you need to look at your conditioner on two fronts players being able to go the distance and being fit enough to withstand the rigours of the game as an unfit player soon picks injurys up.

Maybe some of the players are suffering from not being able to take OxyElite Pro before the game anymore!
On a serious note, it's a huge problem. 8 points now we've lost this season due to not playing for 80 mins. We can't finish the game strongly.
Is it conditioning? Is it injuries? Is it anxiety? Is it complacency?
Only twice this season have I been happy with our 80 minute performance. Rovers at home and Leeds at home.
