| It was my 13th birthday the day before and I'd come up on an official bus with my aunt who worked for the club & knew the players well. I'd not missed a home game since 1978/9 season and was lucky enough to get a seat on the schools trip to Wembley (remember the old woooden benches along the sidelines anyone?)
We arrived after a shocking journey around 15minutes before kick off, tried to get in but the non moving mass of people in front of us to get to the stand was absolutely chaotic & though I wanted to hold my own & wait auntie wasn't as big as me so she decided to head back to the coach.
Sitting there with tears in my eyes, listening to the roar of the crowd & feeling so sad I wasn't in there it was the most bitter sweet memory I've ever had watching it on the tiny monitor on the coach
That's why I was so emotional watching us beat Leeds in 2005 having never seen us 'lift' the cup
C'mon U ullllahhhhh

Jeez mate, reading that I nearly cried for you!
Well I wasn't a year old when this happened but my Grandad loves telling the story.
Just glad for 2005, at least us younger ones have our own memories.

| Never post - but reading this brought back a great memory - taking day off college getting there great game and atmosphere but my lasting memory was been stood next to an old guy must have been in his eighties in tears who told me that he had been at the 1914 final as child and never thought he would see it again.

| It was a fab night. I went with my Dad. It was a surprise as I didnt think I was going then he suddenly said. "I got some tickets for the replay" I couldnt bel it. Such a great night remember it well. What year did we beat the Dobbins in the Yorkshire cup at Boothferry Park I think it was played? They only remember Wembley cup game with us.

| Went with my family on a coach out of the old Humber Manures club off Stoneferry. The coach driver that evening wrote himself into folklore with all of us who traveled with him. How he got through the traffic and to the ground before the game kicked off I will never know, but he did. The game was unbelievable, the atmosphere amazing and the result, well it was perfect. I would love to see us win at Wembley of course, but I wouldn't swap the victories/occasions at Elland Rd and Cardiff for anything.

I watch the video of the final & the replay every year on my birthday, still get a lump in my throat, that chap in the 2005 final who was crying when singing abide with me just epitomises what it is like as a fan following Hull ias it's such a roller coaster on the emotional front. I wouldn't change it for the world

| I was almost 13 years old and we had been to Wembley to see the final, I was with my parents and my younger brother at the final and when the final hooter sounded my Dad said out loud that he would take us to the final replay.
On the day in question we left Hull with my Dad driving, his mate from BP sat in the passenger seat and me and our kid sat in the back dressed head to foot in black and white with scalves flying from the windows. The match had kicked off and we were all stood in massive queues, all the adults were kicking off and shouting at the Elland Road officials.
We all had to wait until half time until we were taken through a gate. We were then led onto the pitch side and this was very exciting for me and our kid. The stewards took us all around the pitch and let us into the stands. We then watched the second half when it started and all was forgotten. I remember the night well and the win was amazing. I was also lucky enough to see the Challenge cup at school a few weeks later and it still had the black and white ribbons attached.
