| At the moment a £1 buys $1.50 in Aus so if an Aussie wants $500,000 , which they can get here in Aus quite easily then we need to pay £330,000 pa !!!!! That is why some UK players are now in Aus as they get $500,000 and that is a LOT of UK pounds. So to get average Aus players over we pay over the odds. Also the salary cap here in Aus is higher in comparison to here.
Only 5 years ago it was nearly $3 aussie to £1 so we could pay an Aussie , like Barratt , £200,000pa and he would be RICH if he sent his money home etc
So , it is expensive to get a mediocre Aussie and I am not sure we are really even that excited about our new guys.
YOUTH is the answer and we MUST bulk up these 18-20 year olds and get them fitter , sharper and more skillful than they are now. We must think beyond the norm to do this and I HOPE Gentle has the answer

| I live in Auckland and go and watch the Warriors.
I know for fact Seymour was close to going back to an Austrailian club before FC came in for him.
Big money was waved in front of him to come to FC is my understanding.

The Rugby Football League are in the process of reviewing the video that you are referring to. We do not condone behaviour of this nature and have contacted the player’s employer, Hull F.C., who have confirmed that they are dealing with the incident under their club rules.

I've got no doubt he'll be one of our top paid players but to pay one player a sixth or your cap would be a massive mistake.

| Seymoor surely wont be on any more than £120k a year and even that would be to much for the player IMO.

I doubt he has ever seen him play, but 125K will be about right and when you think that NRL reserve players like Dobson will be gettong more than that, it might not be a bad deal.
Really this is a pointless thread as nobody on here knows who earns what and how close we are to the salary cap limit,

| Well i believe Seymour is on a massive chunk and seen as nobody actually knows then it will remain my belief and i get this from the fact the exchange rate is poor, other clubs were in for him and we were desperate. He will no be on a miserly 125K even if people think that what hes worth and its just not worth coming afrom the best league in the world with its new salary cap to some to ty old England for what would probably be worse cash once you factor in the exchange rate.

How much do you think Seymour could demand in the NRL?

| Hasn't Tompkins just signed a new deal rumoured to be around 300K and makes him the highest paid SL player.
Surley no body thinks Seymour will be on anywhere near that.

No idea but there far fewer decent scrum halfs in SL than there is in the NRL making his worth much higher over here and dont forget this is Hull FC we were talking about and not some well run club
