This has been a nightmare season. Agar is still clueless in terms of selection, rotation and gameplan and is not the coach a club of our size deserves. No one's claiming that one victory against a poor Harlequins team is a new dawn at the KC.
However, we played OK last night for the first time in ages, in the first half, anyway. Good debut by Lauaki, and promising efforts from Tansey, Hall, strong contributions from Manu and Moa. A decent atmosphere. Let's just enjoy an oasis of entertaining rugby in the vast desert of disappointment that has been the 2009 season.

The best thing about last night was the way the fans, despite the dross that has been served up week in week out, applauded the team out at the start and got behind them during the game. Virtually everyone just wanted the relief of seeing a Hull team compete on their own pitch with some passion and commitment together with the ability to carry out the basics to the required standard. As you say no one is forgetting what has gone but the majority of people who decide to support a team will enjoy watching that team perform well and win which is a reasonable stance to take as a supporter.

I can see the inadequacies in our coaching and squad, and will be completely hacked off when we get beaten at Wigan but I enjoyed last night. We're stuck with Agar. No one is happy about it, but it's a fact at least for the next 7 months, so may as well be reconciled to it.

After putting up with weeks of dire play and losses its good to watch a game with a win at the end of it, yeah of course we're happy, also releived but it hasn't made us forget we're still not the team we where, so until next season, keep smiling.

We won a game when the season was over, against a team that can't buy a win at the moment.
I'm pleased that a few players put in a good performance, thats it.

Ok, getting it right once in the last 3 months or so isn't good enough and Agar should of paid the price by now. But were stuck with him so I'll praise him and the players when they deserve it.
