| Quote: The Southstand Madman! "I think thorman should have been dropped and berro replacing him , Whiting loose man a G Horne centre.
Bench would have been Thacks , King , Manu and houghton
Radford 2nd row Maloney start.
If Thorman's confidence is gone he should be made to play in the reserve's get some game time and leadership back.
Can't do any worse if we drop him!!!'"
Personally i would not have Berrigan in the team at the minute. Not because he is crap but he is clearly not fit, lacking mobility and speed around the ruck.Last night he must have slumped down at least 4 times after making a tackle.

| Talking about players not been fit, Tony in the pre warm up looked really restricted when running!
Back on topic, i can understand Berro being picked ahead of Whiting if that was the case. However as has already been said Whiting has made a positice impact since his return from injury and other players should have been dropped before him.

| Dropping Whiting was another baffling decision. Thought he has played well in his recent run at centre and offers more there than Graeme Horne but I would really like to see him given an extended run at 13 until Washy is fit.
If he is to be offered a new deal its not going to be as a makeshift centre. We need to see what he can do in the middle.

I like Whiting but I feel he needs to go, very average player always gives 100% but just not good enough for me.

| we can only keep one of g horne and whiting for me. Keeping them both would be a very weak decision by agar

| Quote: rich1977 "Agree that Whiting should not of been dropped (there where other candidates more deserving in my oppinion) but in the last two games Whiting has shot out the line causing big holes in the defence and leaving his winger high and dry.
This may of been the reason he was dopped, just my observations and again i like Whiting and would always be in my side.'"
That is to do with Hulls inability to slide in defence. He can either shoot out the line and put the attackers under pressure, or stand marking one man whilst watching the rest run around him.

Got to be Whiting to stay however I can see it been Horne after him getting the nod above Whiting on Friday.

I can see it being both. Think the massive clearout will consist of us not offering thackray a new contract

I agree and without question it has got to be Whiting.

| Sadly disagree, never thought I would say this but Horne edging it at mo.
Frankly neither anywhere good enough for SL centre.
Whiting just not showing enough of the footballing ability & creativity we all think he's got. Clearly not powerful enough to play 13.
Horney offers true versatility covering several positions, defensively sound & powerful enough to survive.
Both journeymen IMO, any shirt number below 18 next season & more than a dozen appearances for either expect a similar season to this !
If both sign................................

Very good post. I've always liked whiting but he doesn't look to me like he will ever be a 1st team regular (when everyone is fit) and players of that ilk at his age should move on to a club where they will be. Same goes for horne. If we were more ruthless with this type of player then we'd have a much better 1st choice 17. We should have a policy where any player not in our 1st choice 17 is under 23. Anyone over that age and not a 1st choice player should be released
