A bit random, but does anyone know how come Hull Wasps basketball ended up moving from the Gemtec arena to Ennerdale. I seem to remember it was something to do with punitive increases in rental, but can't remember.

I emailed Smailed earlier today and just got this reply

'Thank you for your e-mail, it has been noted along with the many others I have received. I have passed it on to our sports editor who is dealing with this situation and trying to get a response from all parties.'

The argument about it being a "modest" fee for City is just rubbish too, the money involved in football, even at Championship level, is completely different to Superleague budgets. Whats "modest" for City could be excessive for Hull FC.

Any sane businessman would surely be looking to divest himself of such a loss-making enterprise?

Uness of course the losses are helpful to a strategic plan, or maybe the owner is just being philanthropic?

Why would he - it has losses that are high, but in its last accounts had £1.2m in cash in the bank - mind you, most of that was probably FC's season pass income from last year.

I also believe there is/was a problem with the hockey clubs having to move, unusre if this got resolved but it was something to do with the conversion of the all weather pitches.

I know they wanted to dome one and convert to 3g, but think this got kicked out
