Obviously Cartwright isn't coming until pre-season but maybe there's a possibility of getting all/some of his backroom team in before then? Get them to start implementing some of his training plans now ahead of his arrival.
Depending on what money the club has (baring in mind we was willing to pay Salford for Rowley, I'm presuming we have some), I would seriously be looking at paying a fee for a player to come to us right now. Not sure who and convincing a club and even a player to make the move is not going to be easy but I feel that we need to make some kind of signing that galvanises the playing group for this season. Right now we are just limping along game to game and it's going to be a real tough ask for Cartwright to turn it around in a pre-season which means he'll be under intense pressure from the off when results inevitably don't go our way.
Absolutely criminal that the club has allowed this situation to occur. Feels like we've completely sleepwalked into this.

100% agree,
Be amazed if either a signing announced early next week or at least some news leaked via the HDM

| The club has been badly managed by pearson for years. He's been too trusting of people, mcrae, radford smith, and appointed an amateur as ceo resulting in a succession of decisions seeing us spiralling ever downwards.
We've wasted so much money on garbage players its unbelievable. How much did we pay reynolds? Well over £1/2m and there's others too. Add in ridiculous decisions to let players go randomly, ridiculous retention decisions, crazy money for average players and poor overseas recruitment and you can see why we are where we are. Most of this is down to poor management resulting in poor decisions.
Had we nit wasted so much money we'd have a better squad and better off field set up.

| I am an IAKOW fan. Last night was a first for me, I turned sky from FC to another channel and watched Hudds v Leigh. I’m losing the Will to watch, it was that bloody awful, if I’m doing it then there must be plenty of others with less fortitude that have already given up. Pass sales for next season are going to take a dramatic fall unless something spectacular happens are they going to sack Grix next?

Hudds v Leigh was an awful game.

| Last night just reminded me that the person responsible for this utter mess is Pearson and I hope that someone is coming in not just to invest but also to take over as Pearson is done at this club. Until we get a true clean sleep I think an element of doubt will stay in people's minds about the where the clubs going. This in between thing will hold people back in trying to reengage with the club.

| Persons going nowhere unless someone pays off the loans the club owes him which is likely to be several £million

As Jake mentioned i think once Pearson gets his loans repaid and something for his shares he will be off like a rat up a drainpipe. His credibility with fans is shot
Interesting when Cartwright was interviewed he mentioned Richie Rich several times but not once mentioned Pearson which i found strange as Pearson still owns the club
Like you i think the money hopefully coming in is a takeover rather than investment

I have wondered this myself and if that's why he's taking on the Chief Executive role from James Clark. I'm thinking he's possibly sold up and is taking the role on temporarily until it's all completed or he's possibly sold up a majority share and once completed he'll take up the mantle of CEO on a permanent basis whilst the club has a new Chairman/Owner.

Would make sense for someone who knows the club and has been around a while to take up that role for a period of time until the new owners have got a feeling for everything.

| well a lot of folks will have been pleased to see the back of me on here for the past couple of weeks after a holiday timed so that I didn't miss a game of ours but was away when the unthinkable could have happened in the cup semi final which I watched from half time in a nice pub in Tenerife. I haven't been on here because I'm just fed up of pop ups and ads blocking progress on this site and the inability to quote people etc, which is really p*ssing me off. However In my absence I have to say that I spoke to a couple of folks who used to be connected with our club but who are now back in Sydney and Brisbane and they were both surprised at our appointing John Cartwright as they really do rate him and they think he will be a real success.
One confirmed that he understood that his agent actually contacted us so keen was he to have a crack at the job and he was described to me as a real slave driver as far as fitness is concerned all of which heartened me. I have to say that although I was sceptical at the time of his appointment I think that Myler. has thus far done a great job with what is available to him and like many on here I doubt myself that Adam will be around in any sort of hands on role come next season. After that evasive interview on Humberside I think he's simply lost interest and wants out. Investment permitting, which hopefully does seem to be coming.
However I have to say watching the game at Castleford I did ponder on the issue of just how far we have sunk and how poor we are and what a low ebb the club is at. They were poor too, but showed some heart for their fans and sense but we were hopeless at times. Never mind culture and application some of our lot make schoolboy mistakes and misjudgements which are cringeworthy to watch. We may blame the debts we had on the quality of our recruitment but it does appear that Adam was led up the garden path by Smith and settled for getting shut of quality players and making do with second rate signings to replace them in the name of solvency.
Can you imagine how we would be as fans in this state where relegation to still be live, for we don't honestly look like we'll win another game this year. We are an absolute laughing stock in the game and certainly the very poor relations in this city. Its going to be a very long road to get back to anything like what we have expected for years from Hull FC in fact having watched the last quarter last night and the kids having a go I don't know why we just don't throw caution to the wind, bring em into the team and play a muck or.nettles game and at least entertain us for some of the time.
But what I guess I am saying is that whichever angle you look at our on field performances we are probably at the lowest ebb with the least resources and poorest players we have seen at our great club for decades.
Our management has sold us the fans down the river this year big style, its all been done on the cheap but having done that they now seem incapable of producing anything to pull us back, what is worse however is the sad state of affairs when we are using the IMG stuff and no relegation to do it. We know we can't go down so bugger the supporters we are safe, wherever we finish. I just hope that when we finish bottom in disgrace we'll all have a big think about how much longer we can be relied upon to just pitch up pay our money and accept whatever we are served up. We all hope for next season (already), we love our club remember the good times and hope against hope for their return but come the end of the campaign we need to be asking so big questions and getting some answers. As I always say It's a good job we love em!!!!
