Quote: Hutchie "Here is a simple question.

If we are at salary cap maximum and they are confident of seling the same amount of passes, why would they need to increase at all ??'"

To generate increased income for investment into other areas such as training facilities/youth development ?

Pricewise alone to cover increases in costs of wages etc. for non playing staff ? Surely these costs will increase year on year ?

Why should they get pay rises, or do you mean all those above the coal face.

Training/Youth a lot of that is sponsored or gained via the community development etc

or should they just milk the old cash cow a bit more

Is the SMC charge is the same every year? I'd like to bet it goes up each season.

Besides, if they sell 8,000 passes and charge an extra £10 each, that's a really nice pre-season training camp in Mustique. They do deserve a treat after all the extra effort they've put in this season. icon_wink.gif

The SMC Charge goes up index linked to inflation every year! On a serious note it is a bit nieve to say that if the salary cap does not go up then the passes don't because we get lots of sponsorship! Anyone running a business would tell you it is a fine balancing act. For two years passes have stayed the same price and I would like to think they will for a third year, but sooner or later it will be impossible to absorbe increased cost in other ways!

The club would be silly to constantly continue to keep prices at the same level because as a business they have a lot more to consider than salary cap issues. For instance training and playing kit will go up year on year, meals and hotel costs will go up every year as will coach hire, office expenses, advertising and staff wages away from the playing side etc etc . It is reasonable that any business would to cover this put the cost of what they are producing or the service they provide up! The bank and financial institution with whom the club deal would expect to see this.

The thing is they must nor get greedy and balance any increase with some thought for the difficult times many families are having cash wise.

I hope they don't go up but if they do I will look with interst at how sympathetic to the average fan the increase are! Just as ever only my thoughts though!

You wish. Got mine no problem. We've taken on more sponsors? wow. Good news then. icon_lol.gif

I meant any non-playing salaried staff.
If people dont want to pay it dont pay. Not much that can be bought in life stays the same price for too long. The club did well last year to keep prices the same, the junior passes are mega value and the interchangeable voucher system allowing a missed game voucher to be used another time is brilliant. It didn't used to be like that.

Like I say it's no different to anything else. I'm sure the same hand wringing doesn't generally go on each time the price of a pint goes up 5 or 10%.

£220 there or thereabouts for 13 games of Super League is fantastic value compared to other leisure activities. Excited about seeing Fitzgibbon leading the team out already. Although I think I said this about Crocker, so best not get giddy. icon_wink.gif

Wish I shared that Mrs B. You have, I reckon the same sort of drive over to a home game. I admire you. It's turned into a morgue at home. Wheres the noise gone? I dunno, no way will I stop going but am having to juggle finances like other folks. Plus the bonus of a trip to Aus next year makes swaps for my shifts at work for games unworkable.
This year I needed 5 swaps for games when the fixtures were announced...when Sky had finished it was 11.
So for me...season pass.... no, sorry.

You failed to mention the 40% increase on Boulevard prices in the first 3 years at the KC. Making us THE most expensive club to watch

Just an eternal optimist with low standards. Love the start of the season - pick up a Starbucks with an extra shot of espresso to go and foot to the floor to get to the KC. Doesn't matter how cr@p we've been the last 2 years, still excited to see the new team. The experience on the day may be rubbish, but at least I'll have been cheerful for the preceding 5 months icon_lol.gif

That, and the shoes. icon_wink.gif

I wonder how many we'll sell? If this thread is representative, reckon we'll be doing well to sell 6,000. icon_sad.gif
