You are wrong.
Under Barmby Hull City were playing really attractive football and in the top 6.
Barmby was let down by Allam who would not or couldn't at the time give him money for team strengthening when he needed players in the January transfer window.
This is what led to Both Barmby and Pearson leaving the club.
Remember also both Barmby and Pearson eventually had their financial claims settled by Allam out of court.
Radford on the other hand is completely out of his depth as a coach and man manager.

The reason allam sacked barmby, was he had put money for barmby to use in the transfer window, and barmby chose not to buy a striker which ultimately cost them promotion.Barmby appealed about his sacking and failed and a subsequent appeal against the decision also failed. The reason pearson was sacked on the spot, without compensation, and didnt appeal will be known to most on here.
As regards radford your 100% correct.

| Anyway..
The point I was making is that Pearson already had the idea that local , Club Hull stuff was the way forward. It's clearly a major part of his thinking. I think that this idea is idealistic and unlikely to work without copious amounts of luck unless it's backed up with some serious external signings and applied by a "neutral" coach.

| Heard today that Lancaster has signed a contract with Rovers and it will be announced in next few days..
If true, tbh i don't think it's to big a loss. Yes he is a player we've brought through but his position will always be easy to fix. (Winger)

Disappointing if true but not the end of the world. He might turn out to be a good player or might not. He will be no higher up the pecking order at Rovers than at Hull and if they are paying him over the odds that's their problem.

£40-50k rumoured by both sets of fans. Seems a lot for a 17 year old winger, particularly one who at Rovers would be behind Cockayne, Sio, Mantellato, Dixon and possibly Dave Hodgson too, I think he would have got more first team opportunities with us tbh. He's got a real instinct for scoring tries, for sure, and I think he's got great potential. Disappointing news.

No club would pay him that his core skills & defence need a very lot of work.

Agreed. It would be madness from the club's point of view and it would be bad for someone of his age to be paid that much. He needs to understand he has a lot to learn yet and should get his head down and put the work in.

| Lots of rumours doing the rounds on this one. I heard that he (Lancaster) wanted 40k contract. Hull laughed at it and refused to offer him what he wanted. Since, Lancaster has took it upon himself to manufacture his release and move to Rovers by breaking club rules, i.e not reporting to training etc. Rovers are willing to pay the 40k a year he wants.
Absolute bollards if you ask me, but if Rovers were to sign him it would be more to do with d!ck measuring again, akin to the Paul Cooke signing.

Regarded with a big future at our club, he is a good kid who wants to learn, & wants to stay.

Bang on. The last bit anyway. I hope he stays due to his potential, but it's a lot of cap to be sat in the stands for 10 minutes of one-upmanship.

So we can expect to hear about a new deal for him soon?
