I think the Wembley loss really took a lot of the belief out of the players and they knew (as did we) that they couldn't get to Old Trafford and win, so what better way to show their disregard for Gentle than by playing like a bunch of no hopers in a knock out game on TV. Wouldn't have had the same impact if it had been a game worth 2 league points
over the course of a season.

Just my imagination maybe, but I can't think of any other excuses for last night's humiliation.

One other thing, If I hear the phrase "the lads have trained magnificently all week, I couldn't have asked for anymore from them" I will scream.

Well if the management have anything about them, they will examine the video of last night's debacle more closely than ever. They should be able to pick out those who's minds were elsewhere and thus help them to go there.

One of my friends suggested as much at the match last night. I think he was clutching at straws to explain that first half performance. I can't believe that any professional sportsman would deliberately throw a game in that way. However if it is true, those responsible should be sacked immediately, whoever they are and irrespective of their contractual position because they are in fundamental breach of contract. Player power has ruled this club for too long and its needs sorting now.

FWIW I think appointing someone like Radford would only exacerbate the situation.
